Subject: 7 Seas Cruise News - January23, 2008

Greetings, Cruise Fans

Good evening and welcome to the 7 Seas Cruise
News, brought to you by my patient husband, Pat
Crane, owner of www. 7seascruises.com. Pat is
standing by, waiting to assist you with a
FANTASTIC price on any cruise that captures
your fancy!

More about that in a minute, but first I need
to apologize for the lengthy time lag between
newsletters. So many of you have inquired about
my health and well-being and to tell you the
truth, I am fine. Just very, very overworked.
For the past 11 months, I have been trying to
hire a more junior writer to help me out at the
corporation where I work. And I still haven't
found anyone! Consequently I'm doing the work
of two (for the salary of one. alas!). By boss
says it will get better immediately. It had
better. I am exhausted. Sweet Pat has been very
patient about all this. He says he hasn't the
heart to mention the newsletter when I'm
working at home until midnight. But you don't
wnt to hear my troubles! You want to know about
cruises! So here goes...

There are great values available this winter
and spring. And it's not too early to plan and
book a summer vacation cruise either. Pat can
guide you through the maze of prices and find
you a great price!

Pat and I had lunch aboard the Navigator of the
Seas on Saturday (great food) and we heard a
lot of people telling each other how good
business is. But we know better. Ships are not
sailing full. And when that happens, prices
drop. So, let's go! Call Pat at 1-866-424-1090
toll-free to talk about it. Shop around at www.
7seascruises. com, or drop Pat a line at
cruiseplanners7seascruises@msn.com. If you
avoid the latest ships (like the Freedom class
ships at Royal Caribbean), Pat can find you a
good value! So call. It's a great season for
cruising!

And now, a smattering of cruise news....
Carnival Cruise Lines, the world's largest
cruise operator, raked in a record number of
awards during the past year, capping off the
final weeks of 2007 with several additional
accolades from a variety of esteemed
organizations.  Readers of Ocean & Cruise News -
the publication of the World Cruise & Ocean
Liner Society, an organization comprised of
highly experienced cruise enthusiasts -- named
Carnival "Best Cruise Value" in the superior
four star category for the 14th consecutive
year. The line also took home top honors in the
"Short Cruise" category. During the ninth
annual Reader's Choice Awards conducted by
Travel Weekly magazine, Carnival was named  "
Best Domestic Cruise Line," while the 88,500-
ton Carnival Spirit was named "Best Overall
Individual Ship." Carnival also received the
prestigious "Best Cruise Line" honor from
highly popular Southern Living Magazine, within
that publication's 2008 Readers Choice Awards.
Among a wide variety of other accolades
received throughout the year, Carnival was
honored with nine Readers Choice Awards from
Porthole magazine, including "Best Children's
Program," "Best Entertainment" and "Most Value-
for-the-Money."

Last year, when cruise lines printed brochures
for their 2008 itineraries, the cost of a
barrel of crude oil was already high, in the $
60 range. Since then, the cost of oil has
skyrocketed to an all-time high, so it's easy
to see why fuel adds a lot to the cost of a
cruise. In order to cover the rising cost of
fuel, cruise lines have added a fuel surcharge
of from $5 to $12 per person, per day. That's
an additional $70 to $168 per couple for a
seven-night cruise. Royal Caribbean charge $5
per person per day for the first two passengers
in a cabin. The entire Carnival group-Costa,
Holland America, Princess, Cunard, etc.-is also
charging the $5 per person for the first two
passengers. Not bad for the times, I guess.

Ok. That's it for this evening. Please stay
tuned for more frequent newsletters. I promise!
And until next time, smooth sailing!

Teri
