Greetings, Cruise Fans Welcome to the July 8 edition of the 7 Seas Cruises News-your cruise update from the best cruise agent/discounter in the whole world. Of course, I refer to Pat Crane! While he waits for your call to talk cruises, he offers up this thought... Two months ago I filled my tank at a gas station that was self pump. When I was done pumping the digital display on the pump said " Car Wash Y/N?" I said no. I went to that station yesterday and when I was done pumping the digital display on the pump said "Home Equity loan for this purchase Y/N?" It's bad out there, isn't it? But even when times are rough, people like you and me are still planning a great vacation. Why? Well, why not? You can't cut out every luxury and when you think about cruises with all your food and most of your entertainment included- they are a great value. And fun. Don't forget that part! And there are great values to be enjoyed right now. Give Pat a call, toll-free at 1-866-424-1090 to see what he can find for you! For example, Celebrity just announced a special opportunity to get cabin credits when you book a holiday cruise with Pat between July 14 and July 27. Most holiday sailings are included. Your cabin credits total $50 is you book a cruise of 5 nights or less. If you book a cabin on a 6 to 8 night holiday cruise, you'll get $100 per cabin; and if you decide on a cruise of 9 nights or longer, you'll get $200 in cabin credits per cabin. The only other rule is you have to book an ocean-view category or higher. And the prices are good, too. For example... Book the 10-night Ultimate Caribbean cruise for Thanksgiving for as little as $949 + tax & fuel supplement per person in an ocean-view cabin and get $200 worth of onboard credits per cabin. How about a 7-night Christmas Southern Caribbean cruise for as little as $999 per person + tax & fuel supplement with $100 worth of cabin credit for each ocean-view cabin? An 11-night Southern Caribbean voyage over New Year's Eve can be yours for $1199 per person + tax & fuel supplement in an ocean- view cabin-and you'll get cabin credit totaling $200. Or if you'd prefer, you can enjoy the same deal over President's Day. Then again, you could take a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise over President's Day 2009 and pay only $649 per person + tax & fuel supplement-and you'll earn $50 in cabin credit for your ocean-view cabin. Looking for another cruise line? No problem. Pat will discount any and every cruise you'd like (except for those he is prohibited from discounting by the cruise line)-which means a great deal for that voyage you deserve! And now, a bit of cruise news… Norwegian Dawn, while sailing off the coast of Massachusetts and New York on Monday, June 30, 2008 on its way to Bermuda, answered two separate distress calls within twelve hours, rescuing two injured sailors from different boats in rough seas. Cruise passengers are enjoying Martinique in growing numbers this year according to the latest statistics from the Martinique Promotion Bureau/CMT USA. From January to April 2008, cruise arrivals totaled 51,718, a 10.55% increase over the same period in 2007. Cruise lines featuring Martinique in 2008- 2009 itineraries include Azamara Cruises, Costa Cruises, Holland America Line, MSC Italian Cruises, P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn Cruise Line, Silversea Cruises, Star Clippers and Windstar Cruises. Guests who book a stateroom on select MSC Cruises' Caribbean sailings by Aug. 31 are eligible to receive a shipboard credit of up to $200 per stateroom. The amount of the shipboard credit will be determined by the type of stateroom: Interior stateroom gets $ 25 shipboard credit per person (maximum $50 per stateroom). An Oceanview earns $50 shipboard credit per person (maximum $100 per stateroom); and a Balcony or Suite earns $100 shipboard credit per person (maximum $200 per stateroom). The shipboard credit offer is valid on the following sailings: MSC Lirica's 10-night Deep Caribbean itineraries, sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale on March 4, March 24 and April 13. Rates begin at $899 per person, and the MSC Orchestra's 7-night Western Caribbean itinerary, roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale March 7. Rates begin at $549 per person. Cruise-only rates are per person, double occupancy. Plus, children under the age of 17 sail free on all sailings when sharing a stateroom with two full-fare-paying adults and guests need only place a deposit of $100 per person. Earlier this week, in ceremonies at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri, Italy, Carnival Cruise Lines officially took delivery of its newest "Fun Ship," the new 113,300-ton Carnival Splendor. The largest Carnival Cruise Lines vessel ever constructed, the 3,006-passenger SuperLiner debuts July 2 with an inaugural eight-day Western Europe voyage from Genoa to London (Dover). From Dover, the ship will be officially named during a ceremony on July 10 presided over by its godmother, British celebrity Myleene Klass, a chart-topping musician, singer and television personality. Myleene Klass will have a spectacular bottle-breaking "assist" from Royal Navy divers when she performs her first-ever Ship's Godmother duties next week by officially naming the 113,000 ton Carnival Splendor - the biggest passenger ship to sail from Dover Cruise Port. Ultra-fit Petty Officer Christian Rumming, 39, assisted by a Royal Navy dive team led by Lt Ian Richardson, 43, will be underwater near the bow of the Carnival Splendor when he will hear a unique radio signal from Myleene Klass, playing live classical piano music on the ship's top Lido deck. PO Rumming will let out some compressed air from his diving tanks and then personally climb, in wet suit, safety harness and flippers, a 60ft black marlin ascent rope to reach the Carnival Splendor's name on the top of her bow. PO Rumming will then break with tradition, for instead of French champagne, he will undertake Myleene's command and smash against the hull a bottle of the highly acclaimed 1994 vintage Nyetimber English sparkling wine, chosen by Carnival to emphasise their selection of Britain to launch their largest and latest superliner. Carnival Splendor offers a host of innovative facilities and features highlighted by a luxurious health and fitness facility - the two-level, 21,000-square-foot Cloud 9 Spa which houses a thalassotherapy pool, an elaborate thermal suite and 17 private treatment rooms. Adjacent to the facility will be 68 spa staterooms and suites - a first for the line. Other features include a two-deck-high children's play area - the largest in the "Fun Ship" fleet - along with a water park, and a mid-ship pool covered by a magradome and featuring Carnival's Seaside Theatre, a 270-square-foot LED screen displaying movies, concerts and other programming. Additionally, the ship will offer the most elaborate children's facilities at sea, including expansive play areas and a huge Carnival WaterWorks aqua park. Other features include "scenic whirlpools" that extend over the ship's beam and a variety of new stateroom categories, including an innovative two-bathroom configuration that should be particularly attractive to families. That's it for this week. Until next time, please give Pat a call. It's just not fun to stay home-and Pat will bend over backwards to make your cruise affordable! He's waiting to take your call at 1-866-424-1090! Smooth sailing, Teri |
