Subject: 7 Seas Cruise News - February17, 2003

Hello again, cruise fans...

Welcome to another edition of the 7 Seas Cruise
news, brought to you by Pat Crane and his 7 Seas
Cruises--quite simply your best source for
discounted cruises anywhere in the world. Pat
came up with the slogan "See more of the world
for less with 7 Seas Cruises," and it's true. As
cruise fans all know, a cruise is the most
economical way to travel in style and unpack
only  once. Some time ago, Pat and I took a
wonderful tour of Italy. We loved every moment
of it--except for the constant packing and
unpacking and repacking. In 10 days, we unpacked
and repacked 8 times. I compare that with a
cruise I took a few yours ago. From Dover to
Athens in 12 days. Unpacked once. Loved it!

Before we start with the news this week, we got
another rave review of the Carnival Elation from
Betty and Dan M. in California. These are well-
seasoned 60+ travelers who have always skipped
Carnival, fearing that those ships might be too
party-oriented. Pat found an excellent price for
them on the Elation sailing from LA to the
Mexican Riviera, and they decided to try it.
Their comments ranged from "absolutely the best
waiter, bus boy and room steward we have ever
had," to "this is a beautiful ship," and "our
cabin was so large," and everyone was so
friendly," to "the entertainment was terrific."
More Carnival skeptic converted to believers!

If you're ready to become a believer, call Pat
at  the toll-free number, 1-866-424-1090, or
send him an e-mail at cruiseplanners7seascruises@
msn.com  and he'll find you a great price, too!
On  Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL, Princess,
Holland  America, Celebrity--anywhere you want
to go!

And now, some news...

Cruise-bound travelers in the next month may
encounter some extra security scrutiny. Prepare
for:

An increase in random exams during the airport
screening process

An enhanced level of questioning by U.S. customs
officials of travelers returning to the U.S.

More intense scrutiny of travel documents

Increased presence of federal air marshals on
airplane flights

Look for raised security levels in cruise ship
ports

This is the first time since last September that
the government has raised the terrorism alert to
the high category -- but that's not the highest
category that exists. That would be the one-
higher category called "severe." Let's hope we
never see that one!

Royal Caribbean is canceling voyages on Monarch
of the Seas from May 6 to June 2 in order to
complete what it's calling a "major
refurbishment" of the ship before it heads to
Los Angeles. They are mum on details --but look
for some fun, unusual additions and changes to
features on the ship -- that will add some extra
umph to its new assignment.

Passengers booked on any of these four- or five-
night Western Caribbean or Bahamas itineraries
are being offered similar trips on other ships
and a varying scale of onboard credit amounts.
Probably the most significant passenger impact
is on the ship's transitional voyage through the
Panama Canal; that 14-night Ft. Lauderdale to
Los Angeles trip, originally slated to depart
May 17, was among those canceled.

Other news... Princess Cruises will keep Grand
Princess in the Caribbean this summer. The
company has canceled eleven 12-day Mediterranean
cruises, plus two trans-Atlantic crossings, for
the period of May 4 to October 5 due to low
demand. She will offer 22 seven-day Caribbean
cruises instead. Passengers currently booked on
Grand Princess' Mediterranean cruises will be
automatically rebooked onto the equivalent
sailing on Golden Princess which will remain in
Europe sailing identical itineraries. Grand
Princess' new summer Caribbean season will
officially begin on May 4 with a western
Caribbean sailing, which will alternate with an
eastern itinerary. The ship continues its
schedule of exclusively western Caribbean
cruises in the fall. It's a smart move for
Princess. Demand is high for "close to home"
cruises this year, so the Caribbean, Mexican
Riviera, Hawaii and Alaska are the most popular
cruise destinations. European cruises are mostly
Northern this year, focusing on the Baltic Sea
and Scandinavia. Just seems more secure, I guess.

Looking for a great value this spring? Pat has
some fantastic fares on Holland America for
those  who'd like to travel in March or April.
Call him  for details. Some 7-night Caribbean
cruises for  as little as $399 including port
charges. Wow!

Until next week, who's up for Bingo in the main
lounge?

Teri
