Greetings, cruise fans, Welcome to the July 17 edition of the 7 Seas Cruise News. It's broiling hot here in South Florida and the poor air conditioning runs almost non-stop. Needless to say, we aren't running anywhere. I'm thinking it would be a good time to go on a cruise-preferably Alaska. Iceland or Finland would be all right, too. The Caribbean wouldn't be any hotter and the sea days would be breezy, at least. Even Pat, who loves hot weather, admits that this is one hot summer! So, let's go cruising, shall we? Pat has some excellent prices on Costa cruises right now and he can legally discount the daylights out of these! Costa has two lovely ships that will be in the Caribbean this fall, winter and spring. There are special rates on ocean-view and balcony cabins and even a promotional rate on suites. There is a great esprit de corps on these contemporary Italian ships. Decor is sleek. Food is plentiful and quite good. Needless to say, the Italian cuisine is excellent. Costa is good for families, but cruising as a couple could be especially romantic on one of these elegant ships. If you'd like to talk to Pat about Costa, or any other cruise line, just give him a call. Our toll-free number is 1- 866-424-1090. The website is available 24 hours a day at www.7seascruises.com, but don't pay too much attention to the prices. Often Pat can get you a better price when you call or write to him. You can always email Pat, too. You'll find him at cruiseplanners7seascruises@msn.com, and he will get you a price quickly and email you right back! We have a little NCL news, but first let me remind you all once again that passports will be required for all travel outside the U.S. as of January 1, 2006. So, if you are cruising over the holidays, be prepared and get your passport now. Visit www.state.us.gov and print out an application! Don't delay. Right now, you can probably get your new passport or renewal within a month. If you wait, there could be a backup! And now, some cruise news... Samana in the Dominican Republic is NCL's newest port of call for the Norwegian Spirit's 8-day sailings beginning in February 2007. This new destination will offer the option of tendering to the island to enjoy a lazy day on the beach, water sports, a BBQ lunch, etc. similar to a day on a Private Island. Or they have the option of spending the day exploring the town of Cayo Levantado. Saman?? Bay is located in the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. Its unspoiled beauty consists of a medley of sun- drenched sandy beaches, dense rainforests, towering mountains covered with coconut palms, cold mountain streams rushing to meet the sea and spectacular cliffs rising from the ocean. One of its main attractions is the overwhelming presence of the majestic humpback whales, who visit every winter to give birth in warm seas. You can cross the Bay of Saman?? and savor a unique experience in the Caribbean, The National Park Los Haitises, where you will stroll through caves with stalagmites and stalactites, as well as ancient paintings and sculptures that represent the gods of the Taino Indians who were native to this island. Cayo Levantado Key is located at the entrance of the Saman?? Bay. It is reached by boat from the village of Samana harbor. It offers mellow turquoise water and powdery white sand beaches that are considered one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. In this exceptionally beautiful place, water sports abound. Go SCUBA diving or snorkeling, ride the big, yellow "water banana," swim in the crystal-clear waters, play on the beach, enjoy the amazing views of the picturesque island or just relax. NCL is pleased to announce a new partnership with Union Privilege (UP). Because of the cruise line' s support of unions on the NCL America fleet, NCL is the only cruise line today that has a special relationship with UP and will be offering Union Privilege members special discounts on NCL and NCL America cruise vacations. With the Union Plus Freestyle Cruising Program, UP Members will receive a 5% discount off the prevailing rate of any NCL or NCL America cruise. UP members will be receiving information on the Union Plus Freestyle Cruising program over the next few weeks through mailers and via their web site, www.unionplus.org/ cruises. You can book through Pat (a former union man himself). You'll need your Union Membership number and affiliation at the time of booking to secure their reservation at the discounted rate. The 5% discount will is combinable with other NCL promotions, too. Costa has announced a Country Music cruise aboard the Costa Mediterranea, January 22nd through the 29th. It'll be a Western Caribbean itinerary, sailing from Fort Lauderdale and calling at Key West, Cozumel, Ochos Rios and Grand Cayman. Stars announced for the cruise include Craig Morgan, Neal McCoy, Jamie O'Neal and Erika Jo. Pat will be happy to get you a good, discounted price. Just call him. That's about it for this week. Hold happy thoughts for the residents of Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Cancun. This is going to be a long, long night. And here's hoping the beautiful, friendly wonderful island of Grenada recovers quickly. Hope you have a terrific week! Teri |
