Subject: 7 Seas Cruise News - February06, 2006

Greetings, Cruise Fans,

Pat is watching the Super Bowl, so it's the
perfect opportunity for me to bring you this
Super Bowl edition of the 7 Seas Cruise News.

Are you planning your summer vacation yet? Pat
invites you to write or call if there is a cruise
in your plans. He's at your service from 9 a.m.
til about 9 p.m. virtually ever day of the week. (
yeah, we don't get out much). You can reach him
at 1-866-424-1090 and that's toll-free, of course.
You are welcome to browse at www.7seascruises.com.
Pat will get you a price on anything you find
there (and it will most likely be less than
advertised).

Pat will be a little hard to find Thursday and
Friday, Feb. 9 & 10. Daughter one and
granddaughter one will be meeting us in Orlando
for two days of exploration at Walt Disney World.
I've asked our granddaughter to help me write a
magazine story about what she likes most about "
the happiest place on earth," and the media
relations people are treating us to press passes.
Go ahead and write or call. Pat will get back to
you as soon as we get back on Saturday.

Pat asked me to alert any of you who are cruising
soon to log onto the respective cruise line
website after you receive your confirmation. Pre-
registering makes boarding a lot simpler and
several of the cruise line are becoming more "
insistent" that guests comply. Once registered,
you can get going on your shore excursions, too!
And while you're at it, please review the names
of all passengers. Pat has been known to misspell
a name (rarely) and the cruise lines can get
pretty creative, too! Make sure all passenger
names match their passports or other IDs. If you
find a problem, call Pat as soon as possible.

And now, a bit of cruise news...

Carnival Splendor is the name Carnival Cruise
Lines has chosen for its new 112,000-ton cruise
ship scheduled to enter service in spring 2008.
Representing a new class of ship for the line,
the 3,006-passenger vessel will be constructed by
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and feature an
innovative new design, including the largest spa
and children's facilities in the Carnival fleet.
Highlights include a 17,800-square-foot spa - the
largest ever incorporated into a Carnival ship.
Encompassing two forward decks, the facility
features an elaborate thermal suite, a variety of
health and beauty treatment rooms, and Carnival's
first thalasso therapy pool. Encircling the upper
level of the spa will be a winter garden that
will include a ceremonial tea house. A 5,500-
square-foot children's playroom - the largest in
the Carnival fleet - will be located mid-ship.
Above the facility will be a new water play area -
a first for the line. Located aft will be a new
sports deck featuring arena-style seating for
games and other events, while a reservations-only
supper club will be located atop the poolside
Lido restaurant, providing diners with
magnificent ocean vistas.  The mid-ship pool -
one of four on board - will be enclosed by two
full decks of glass walls.  The area will be
covered with a two-deck-high retractable dome
that can be closed during inclement weather. A
large balcony will encircle the upper deck of the
pool area.  The vessel will also include 1,503
staterooms, 60 percent of which will offer an
ocean view with 60 percent of those featuring
private balconies. Carnival Splendor is one of
three new "Fun Ships" currently under
construction or on order with Fincantieri.  In
addition to Carnival Splendor, Carnival's order
book includes the 110,000-ton Carnival Freedom,
scheduled to enter service in February 2007, and
an as-yet-unnamed 130,000-ton SuperLiner - to be
the largest "Fun Ship" ever constructed - slated
to debut in fall 2009.

For the sixth time, Peter Deilmann Cruises is one
of the 10 best small-ship cruise lines selected
by readers of Cond?© Nast Traveler in the magazine'
s annual travel survey. At the same time,
Deilmann Cruises won the Readers' Choice award
once again for "Best River Cruise" in the readers'
poll conducted by Porthole Cruise magazine. The
Deilmann rankings are in the November issue of
Cond?© Nast Traveler and the December issue of
Porthole Cruise magazine. A European river and
ocean cruise line, Peter Deilmann was first voted
one of the 10 best small-ship cruise lines in the
Cond?© Nast readers' survey in 1999. Close to 28,
000 readers of the magazine responded to this
year's questionnaire on cruise lines, airlines,
cities, islands, hotels and resorts. Subscribers
judged cruise lines on activities/facilities,
cabins, crew/service, design/layout, food/dining
and itineraries. In the past, Deilmann Cruises
has scored the highest of any cruise line - a
perfect 100% - for its European river cruise
itineraries, the highest - 95.5% - for food of
any cruise line large or small, and 95.3% for
service, second only to one other line. Among
river ships, Deilmann vessels have the highest
passenger-to-crew ratios: 2.5 to 1. Following the
successful introduction of special interest
cruises this year, Deilmann will offer music,
golf, gardens and cycling cruise programs on its
river ships again in 2006 and will introduce new
hiking theme cruises. The line is increasing
classical music cruises on its river ships from
one to four in 2006 - three aboard the 204-
passenger Mozart sailing the Danube, April 2-9,
Oct. 1-8 and Oct. 8-15, and the fourth on the 100-
passenger Cezanne, Sept. 2-9, sailing the Seine
from Paris to Rouen and visiting Versailles,
Giverny and Honfleur. Programs will feature
performances onboard and ashore. Entrepreneur
Peter Deilmann launched the 513-passenger luxury
ocean liner MS Deutschland in 1998 on cruises in
Europe and throughout the world. In 2006, the
five-star ship will sail to southern Africa and
Indian Ocean islands as well as to western Europe,
the Mediterranean, Baltic and North seas,
Caribbean and South America. The Deutschland will
also present a gala onboard music cruise
celebrating the 250th birthday of composer
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Oct. 4-17, and will
offer golf, garden and equestrian special
interest cruises throughout the year. Crew-to-
passenger ratio on the ocean liner is 2 to 1.
Though Peter Deilmann died two years ago, the
company remains a family operation run by his two
daughters, Gisa and Hedda Deilmann. Seven of the
nine river ships are now five star with the
Mozart offering the largest cabins - 203 sq. ft. -
of any river ship in the world and its new
flagship Heidelberg, launched in 2004, offering
cabins of 190 sq ft.  Pat will be happy to help
you learn more about these marvelous ships and
itineraries. Is this your year for the Danube or
the Rhine?

If you know someone 5 to 12, suggest that he or
she visit www.crayola.com to enter the drawing
and writing contest. The winner will win a Royal
Caribbean cruise for four.  It's a pretty
charming website, too. And if you're like me, you
had no idea that there were colors like jazzberry
jam and wild blue yonder! Regardless, it's a
nifty opportunity for your youngest household
members to treat the ol folks to a vacation for a
change!

That's pretty much it for this week. Time to fix
some dinner and watch some more Super Bowl ads.
Hope your team wins!

Teri
