PARADE

The 46th Ward Democrats will be participating in this year's parade. We will
have a convertible with signs, t-shirts, a banner and leaflets to be passed out
along the parade route. This is one of the largest and most exciting events
in Chicago - we would love for you to march with us!

BARACK OBAMA FUNDRAISER.
We are gathering a contingent of supporters for the “Generation Barack Obama” fundraiser.
You will have an opportunity to join both Barack and Michelle Obama for an after hours celebration.
Tickets are $100. If you are interested in attending, please e-mail Sean Tenner at

LET'S GO TO IOWA!
On Saturday morning, June 9th we will be traveling as a group to Iowa to
campaign for Barack in the state which hosts the nation’s first presidential
caucus. We will return Sunday early evening. If you are interested in attending
this trip, please e-mail Sean at stenner@mrss.com and please note if you would
be willing to serve as a driver.

BREAST CANCER BILL APPROVED.
The bill originally championed by Representative Greg Harris was approved by the state legislature
and sent to Governor Blagojevich to sign. This will require state and private
insurance plans to cover comprehensive breast cancer exams.

U OF I TO GET GREENER.
The University of Illinois' Lincoln Hall rehabilitation will focus on energy-
efficient and environmentally-friendly design, which stems from 2005 legislation
sponsored in part by Senator John Cullerton.

HORSE BILL SIGNED.
Governor Blagojevich signed a bill, co-sponsored by Senator John Cullerton, that prohibits
the slaughter of horses for human consumption.

Congresswoman Schakowsky has become a co-sponsor of a bill calling for the impeachment of
Vice President Cheney. However, the mainstream 'liberal' media continues to
deny such a measure is called for.

Congresswoman Schakowsky is in favor of bringing back the Fairness Doctrine,
which says all broadcasting stations must give time for
conflicting views on issues of public importance. Cable news should only be
impacted if Paris Hilton is deemed an issue of public importance.
