Welcome to Volume 4, Issue 1 of the Tallfellow Tribune. The “History has just been made” issue… not by Barak Obama, but by MAD LIBS (published by our former company Price Stern Sloan Publishers), which celebrates its 5oth anniversary this year. Congrats! And…

Speaking of new books, we have several. You may remember Where Did All the Fat Go?, which came out earlier this year and is the book by the doctor for the TV show The Biggest Loser. Dr. Huizenga reveals the program he designed for the show which helped contestants lose massive amounts of FAT, not just weight. That’s the secret. Losing weight may be bad, losing fat is good.

And, we have jumped into the fiction market with a new book, From Crime to Crime, by the screenwriter of the film My Favorite Year, Dennis Palumbo. It’s a collection of short mystery stories, many featuring The Smart Guys Marching Society, a group of desperate husbands who get together to talk politics, compare lives and eat deli. They end up solving crimes.

Dennis actually left the entertainment business to become a psychotherapist to the Hollywood creative community. One of his characters in The Smart Guys is a psychotherapist. Coincidence? I think not! Believe me, he’s got lots of great stories to tell and weave… and he does just that.

And the newest book (mentioned above) is Ten Minutes to the Job Interview, the latest addition to our 10 Minutes 2 Success series. It tells you everything you need to know to land that job (that so many seem to be trying to land these days!).

Tallfellow Happenings

So, we’ve got a lot of cool stuff happening with our new books… such as:

Dennis Palumbo (From Crime to Crime) is doing a mystery-writing workshop and book signing at The Writer’s Store in Los Angeles tomorrow at 5:00. Should be informative and fun. Come join us.
Can’t make it tomorrow? Dennis will be doing a similar event at Vromans in
Pasadena on August 3rd at 4:00. Hope you can make it.

And Dennis is getting a lot of ink and air for the new book from radio interviews on KCRW’s The Business (a special two-week feature called “Hollywood on the Couch”) and Canadian radio to reviews all over the internet and beyond. No mystery here… it’s a great read!

Rachel Ingegneri was featured in the Tucson Daily Citizen with a nice piece on her new book (Ten Mintues the the Job Interview). Not only was there a picture of the book cover, but there was a lovely picture of Rachel herself with her two dogs! Way to go, Rachel. Woof!

Dr. Huizenga (Where Did All the Fat Go?) has been on several TV and radio shows including The Insider (an interview with Patrick Dempsey and Dr. Rob, referred to as “Dr. McDreamy’s doctor!”) and The Today Show to Playboy and Sirius radio, just to name a few

And, last but certainly not least, our book Write Screenplays that Sell – The Ackerman Way has been revised and updated and is now available everywhere. Even more great advice from a teacher who knows his stuff and has had very successful students. Want to try your hand at writing a screenplay? Pick up this book first.
