Editor's Note

Well folks, it's been an interesting week to be a One Life to Live fan. First, was last week's shocking news that the show was firing Dan Gauthier (Kevin). This week, Heather Tom (Kelly) has decided not to renew her contract. Personally displeased with the show's offer, professionally, Heather has decided to return to Los Angeles and pursue other interests. Could that include returning to Young & the Restless, where she spent 12 years? Will OLTL recast Kelly with Kevin leaving? It's anyone's guess at this point.

In another surprise, Y&R has recast Brad's mother. Lorna Raver will assume the role from Millie Perkins on September 19. In an official announcement Y&R said, "Although we were happy with Millie Perkins' performance and we respect her work, we decided to go in a different direction for the role of Rebecca." As well, Marisa Ramirez (Carmen) will soon disappear off the show's canvas. Y&R is pleased with her work, they just feel the 29-year-old actress is too young for the role. Carmen was supposed to be a foe of Dru and keep pressure on her relationship with Neil. But both Victoria Rowell and Kristoff St. John (Dru and Neil) are 40ish. With the writers still penning major showdowns between Carmen and Dru, look for Carmen to be recast.
