Editor's Note

Get ready for a huge shake-up backstage at Young & the Restless. As you may already know, Lynn Marie Latham was recently named executive producer and her first big change is...Jack Smith is no longer co-head writer. Longtime producer Kathy Foster is also said to be leaving. In the meantime, Kay Alden is staying on as co-head writer, but the question is, for how long? Ms. Latham is making these changes because she wants to create her own brand-new team of writers, which will include her husband Bernard Lechowick.

Jack Smith will probably head back to Bold & the Beautiful. When executive producer/head writer Bradley Bell heard about Jack's dismissal, he called Jack to ask him to come back to B&B. Insiders hypothesize the Bells want to keep Jack close by in case the ratings at Y&R start to dip under Lynn Marie's reign. Y&R is consistently ranked number one in the ratings, and obviously don't want to lose it anytime soon.

The story will go ahead as soon as they find a substitute.

Passions Luis and Fancy's racy new storyline kicks off October 5 with the addition of Michael Toland (Lester).
