Editor's Note

Though the actress is in the midst of a front burner storyline, Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) will exit The Young and the Restless this April. According to a spokesperson for Victoria, she asked to be let out of her contract early and the show accommodated the request. It is unclear if Victoria is dissatisfied with the direction of her character and storyline or if the actress received an outside offer to work on another project. Her spokesperson declined to comment further.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Melissa Claire Egan (Annie McDermott, All My Children)

Originally from Bedford, New York, Melissa grew up with an extensive background in musical theater, singing and dancing, having taken a multitude of classes in New York City as a child, as well as having starred in numerous national television commercials and signing with the Ford Modeling Agency.

Melissa graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Dramatic Arts. While there, she appeared in the plays Marvin's Room, How I Learned to Drive, The Birthday Party and Pippen. She then went on to study Shakespeare at the British American Drama Academy at Oxford, England.

From there, she began acting professionally, appearing on One Tree Hill and Dawson's Creek; and in the independent film, Wrestling.

Eagle-eyed All My Children viewers may remember her as an extra when Melissa was 12, but most will remember her as Annie.
