Editor's Note

Other than the fact that both Bold & the Beautiful and One Life to Live have had to re-write and re-edit some major storylines -- it's been a quiet week. Due to the shocking shootings at Virginia Tech on April 16, B&B had to re-edit Shane's exit, who died after a gun struggle with Ridge. The original episode was to air April 18, but instead viewers saw a re-broadcast the show's 5,000th episode. The show was quickly re-edited to be less graphic. On April 19 the episode was broadcast with the disclaimer, "The episode you are about to see was recorded prior to this week's tragic events at Virginia Tech." OLTL is a bit more fortunate. They were planning a storyline that involved a distraught Henry, tired of his tormenters, holding some classmates hostage. The resolution had Henry change his mind about his murder-suicide plot, which was to avoid bloodshed. However, out of respect, ABC has decided not to air the 17 episodes affected. The scenes were taped in March and were scheduled to begin May 4. At this time, it is unclear exactly how they are re-writing and re-working their May Sweeps storyline.
