Editor's Note

In a major online development, CBS has announced that it will begin broadcasting most of its daytime lineup via its corporate web site, www.cbs.com. The move will allow fans of its daytime lineup to watch episodes of The Young & the Restless, As the World Turns and Guiding Light on their own personal computers. "Making our daytime programming available online benefits our audience, the Network and our sponsors," said Barbara Bloom, Senior VP Daytime Programs. "It establishes more opportunities for our rabid fans to watch their favorite shows; creates a new platform to recruit potential new viewers to our daytime programming and it offers our advertisers another means to reach a valuable demographic audience.” Episodes will be available beginning at 600pm ET/300pm PT, immediately following the end of the daytime lineup on the West Coast. Though the episodes will be free to watch, they will not be available indefinitely: episodes will be available for one week before being deleted.

Fans of The Bold & the Beautiful will have to stay tuned. The networks is in "conversations with the production company" of B&B and hope to be able to add the half-hour soap to the online viewing menu in the future.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Lorenzo Lamas (Hector Ramirez, Bold & the Beautiful) www.lorenzo-lamas.com

Lorenzo plays firefighter Hector, single father of Caitlin and adopted son Jimmy.

Lorenzo was born in Santa Monica. At 13, he moved with his mother, actress Arlene Dahl, to New York City. He began attending the Admiral Farragut Academy, a military school. During these four years, he became interested in athletics, lettering in wrestling and track. He was president of his class and 2nd in charge of a Battalion of 300 cadets. He graduated with the intention of enrolling in the University of California to study veterinary medicine. But that summer, he visited his father Fernando on his film set for The Cheap Detective. Lorenzo quickly changed his mind and pursued a career in acting by enrolling in Tony Barr's acting studio.

At 19, he won the role of Tom Chisum in Grease. He was then cast in numerous TV roles until finally landing on the soap Falcon Crest. Around this time, he was personally studying the martial art, Tae Kwon Do, when the producers decided to incorporate the skill into the character's action scenes. After 9 years with Falcon Crest, Lorenzo starred in the action movies Snake Eater, Body Rock and CIA Target Alexa (which he also directed).

By this time, he was a black belt. Lorenzo met with Stephen Cannell to develop the action television series, Renegade. For the next five years, he starred in 110 episodes, producing and occasionally directing. Air America followed and in 1997, Lorenzo became a certified private pilot. He later got his commercial helicopter rating.

Lorenzo is co-chair on several children's charities, including Make-a-Wish, MDA and the Children's Angel Foundation.
