Bill has been portraying Doug
Williams since the 1970s.
Bill's career began on NBC radio as
host of NBC-Radio Monitor. He was the national spokesman for Oldsmobile for
four years. His first TV appearance was in the series Fire-Ball
Run-for-All. He was then asked to be the featured singer on Max Liebman's Your
Show of Shows with Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca. More recently, he has
appeared on TV in Matlock, Hooperman and Cop Rock. Major
film credits include Stop! You're Killing Me, The Cardinal and Wrestling
with God.
Bill's Broadway debut was in Rodgers
& Hammerstein's Me and Juliet. He followed that with a gold record for
The Ballad of Davy Crockett. He was in Bye Bye Birdie on its
one-year tour. His total list include 87 musicals, 28 plays, which have been
performed in almost every state.
Bill is married to co-star Susan
Seaforth-Hayes. They met on the set of Days of Our Lives in the 70s. He
has five children from a previous relationship.
