Heather Tom (Katie, Bold & the Beautiful) has nabbed a three-year contract from the show. Not bad considering that the role was only expected to be six months.

Veteran actor Mario Van Peebles has been cast by All My Children as Senator-wannabe Samuel Woods, slated to be Erica's latest love interest. Mario begins January 29. Veteran actress Shirley Jones (Partridge Family) has been cast by Days of Our Lives as Colleen Brady. The appearance is expected to wrap up a recent love-and-tragedy storyline because Colleen has been presumed dead. Shirley begins next month and is expected to exit in March.

Days of Our Lives Drake Hogestyn returns as John January 8.

One Life to Live Kathleen McNenny airs as a reporter covering the standoff in Paris. Reuben Jackson plays FBI Agent Sutton January 8. Scott Evans begins as Antonio's new partner Oliver January 15. tari Signor returns as Margaret January 17.

Young & the Restless Billy Warlock and Tatyana Ali (Ben and Roxanne, right) return January 9 and 10. Rebecca Staab airs as April, Heather's mom January 11 and 14.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Ewa Da Cruz (Vienna Hyatt, As the World Turns)

Ewa joined As the World Turns in June 2007 as the beautiful heiress, Vienna Hyatt.

Born in Norway, Ewa was discovered at age 8 in a Norwegian department store and began modeling for a clothing line. She went on to model for print ads, editorials and runways. Her modeling career led to commercial work in Norway, along with short films. Though modeling gave her a solid career, she decided it give it up to pursue acting.

Ewa arrived in New York in 2002 and attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Ewa began her film career in 2005 with a part in the independent Norwegian film, Dice. In 2006 she landed roles in Sex and Sushi and Kettle of Fish. Charlie is being released this year.

Ewa's birthday is July 9.
