Editor's Note

Since it's been quiet on this front lately, you knew there was eventually going to be an explosion of actors leaving. Well, this week it's happened. There are a bunch of actors and actresses who will (soon) be leaving their roles for "greener pastures." See below for all the details.

In other news, last week came the announcement that superstar Mary J. Blige will be returning to One Life to Live for another performance, well this week comes word that another superstar is making a cameo. Rock superstar Pat Benatar (and husband Neil "Spyder" Giraldo) are heading to Young & the Restless, February 14 and 15 to perform at Indigo and to offer some advice to Karen. The couple will perform the song Every Time I Fall Back.

As the World Turns Eric William Morris (Matt) will play an old friend of Casey's February 11.

Days of Our Lives Terrell Filford (David, Guiding Light) plays Dr. Carrington January 22.

General Hospital America Olivo guests as mystery woman Marianna. Seamus Dever begins as Ian January 25.

Young & the Restless Iris Almario, Robert Pine and Laurie O'Brien (Nikki's lawyer, Victor's lawyer and the judge) wrap up the divorce proceedings January 21 and 22. TaNeisha Bennett, the winner of Y&R's Screen Test Atlanta appears as Sally January 24 and 25.

 

OUTS

As the World Turns Scott Bryce seems to be through with Craig (again). Scott created the role in 1982, took a break in 1994 and reprised the role in April 2007.

Days of Our Lives Both Brandon Beemer and Martha Madison (Shawn and Belle, left) will be exiting early next month. 

General Hospital Jason Gerhardt is exiting as Cooper Barrett.

One Life to Live It seems to be true that Melissa Gallo (now Fumero) will be leaving the role of Adriana when her contract expires this spring.

All My Children Angie has doubts about her experimental procedure. Krystal confesses. Kendall prepares for her new life.

As the World Turns Casey returns to support Bob. Carly and Sam seem fated to kiss. Emily and Paul strike a deal. 

Bold & the Beautiful Donna turns the tables on Stephanie. Nick asks Dr. Warwick to help Taylor. Ashley and Rick kiss.

Days of Our Lives Hope informs Roman and Abe of her decision. Steve faces Ford's father. Anna job hunts.

General Hospital Sonny stifles his pain. Lulu and Johnny fight their feelings. Jax and Carly ponder making a baby.

Guiding Light Reva is curious after finding Josh with a suitcase. Natalia lays down the law with Olivia. Marina seeks comfort.

One Life to Live John gets two roommates. Ramsey wants to eliminate Gigi. Nora confronts Bo about their past.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady, Days of Our Lives) www.alisonsweeney.com

One of daytime's most beloved actresses and a successful author, Alison is currently tackling the role of producer.

Alison joined Days of Our Lives on January 6, 1993 at the age of 16; Alison has taken Sami from rebellious teenager to a devoted single mother. Along the way, Sami and Alison have tackled various controversial storylines including bulimia, date rape, teen pregnancy and capital punishment.

In her 14-year career at Days, she has won several awards. Four Soap Opera Digest Awards (1986, 1998, 1999 and 2001), and also an award for America's Favorite Villain from the 29th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Alison is an accomplished author. Her book, All the Days of My Life (So Far) was published in 2004 to critical acclaim. The book gave audiences a glimpse into Alison's personal life by describing her experiences as a child actor, life on the set of Days, painful high school memories and her struggles to lose weight and keep it off. 

Alison is currently taking on a new role, Producer, for several projects, one of which is an Internet-based episodic program. She is currently in talks for the show to be broadcast on the Internet and on a major network's website.

Elsewhere on TV, you may have seem her on Las Vegas, Friends and American Dreams. Alison is the current host of The Biggest Loser.
