Editor's Note

Remember NBC soap fans, both Passions and Days of Our Lives will be preempted until August 27 due to 2004 Olympic coverage. Savor today's shows ;-)

Beyond that, it's business as usual.

Enjoy! Karen

     INS

As the World Turns Dr. Rick Decker (John James) returns for a few weeks during the November sweeps. Michael Lowry has also been hired and that's the only confirmed news the show is giving. We'll just have to wait and see...

Guiding Light R.J. (Miles Williams) comes to town August 4. Look-alike "Dinah" (Rebecca Baxter) surfaces August 12.

Young & the Restless Harrison Bartlett (Kin Shriner) is Arthur's estranged stepson. He'll first appear September 7.

OUT

One Life to Live Roxy (Ilene Kristen) exits mid-September since Ilene's contract is not being renewed.

NEWS & RUMORS

More baby news...Ms. Alison Sweeney (Sami from Days of Our Lives) and husband Dave Sanov are expecting their first child this February.

More All My Children wedding news. Natalia Cigliuti (Anita) and Robert Rizzo married at the Castle Hill Inn and Resort in Newport, Rhode Island on July 24. There must be something in the water in that studio. That's 3 stars that have just gotten married in July!

General Hospital is on the lookout for an Asian, Hispanic or multi-ethnic actor to play Matt. The character is set to "stir up trouble in Port Charles".

YOU'RE NOT ALONE (Tell me what's going on with your favorite soap: karensnews2004@yahoo.ca)

I have viewer reactions from all the shows this week.

One Life to Live is getting slammed! Fans don't like the Love Shack storyline nor the Santis, with the exception of Lisa LoCicero (Sonia). She, by the way, is giving Jessica a run for her money with Antonio. My favorite diss of the Santis wants all the other Llanview residents to gang up and kick the Santis out of town. And on All My Children, Ryan is becoming the Bold and the Beautiful's Ridge: Mr. Arrogant. Fans would also like for Greenlee and Kendall to be friends again. There's nothing but praises still pouring in for Lila's memorial on General Hospital.

Speaking of Ridge, fans are loving that he got his clock cleaned by brother Thorne. As the World Turns fans are upset by the departure of Benjamin Hendrickson (Hal). "He's never delivered anything but excellence." Some fans feel the Young & the Restless is too focused on the Newmans and that the rest of the talented cast are only there to serve as their backdrops. I have to agree, just last year everyone had been involved in interesting storylines. And over at Guiding Light, fans are loving that Frank -- finally! -- has a decent storyline.

We're loving that Days of Our Lives' Lucas finally took a stand between Kate and Sami. Here's hoping it lasts...And Passions fans are missing Miguel and Charity.
