Editor's Note

From all the fall teasers I'm reading, it's shaping up to be another explosive, exciting season. Hopefully, I'll be able to pool them together and give you a special "Fall Preview" edition.

Meanwhile, I have an update from last week's issue concerning an actress leaving As the World Turns bound for One Life to Live. And I'm sorry about last week's issue being delivered twice. Zinester was moving things around and I tried to post the issue at the wrong time. This week you'll only get one, I promise. ;-)

Enjoy! Karen

     INS

As the World Turns Les (Michael Lowry) begins September 6. Frank (Steven Marcus) is a bar owner who'll give Jack a job on September 1. Toby (Cheryl Stern) is a police psychic appearing September 2 and 3.

Bold & the Beautiful Luis (Tony Genaro) is a Forrester employee, appearing August 31.

General Hospital John Durant (Corbin Bernsen) begins airing September 3.

Guiding Light Holly Lindsey-Reade (Maureen Garrett) reappears September 29. Hawk Shayne (Gil Rogers) begins again August 31. Steve Schirripa, the Sopranos star appears as himself September 1 and 2.

One Life to Live Charlie (Paul O'Brien) is Marcie's father and Eric (Bill Dawes) is her gay brother. They both begin September 29.

Passions Dr. Tim (Michael Tomlinson) and his nurse (Tiffany Houser) are Katherine's plastic surgery team beginning September 6.

OUT

As the World Turns Walker Daniels' (Real Andrews) exit is "storyline-related", says the show.

NEWS & RUMORS

Last week all the soap publications were ablaze with the story that Mary Beth Evans (Sierra) was set to jump ship from As the World Turns to play Asa's doctor at One Life to Live. Well, this week we all have to eat crow. The actress has signed a contract to remain with ATWT. Details haven't been finalized yet so I can't give you anymore than that.

A little birdie sent me a note saying that on Monday, September 6, All My Children is going to air two encore episodes from last March. Both encore presentations have to do with the baby switch plot. In episode 1 (in AMC's regular time slot) Paul steals Babe's [real] baby. In episode 2 (in One Life to Live's time slot) Paul stages the helicopter crash. And that General Hospital will be preempted, but I haven't heard why or seen any other material to confirm this. We'll have to wait and see...

YOU'RE NOT ALONE (Tell me what's going on with your favorite soap: karensnews2004@yahoo.ca)

All My Children fans are still upset over Marcy Walker's (Liza) still unconfirmed departure. All this leads back to the core argument that the soap doesn't utilize its vets nearly enough nor the way they  deserve.

Meanwhile, over at NBC, fans may be tiring of Days of Our Lives' Island plot, but the actors are enjoying it. Suzanne Rogers says she's excited to work with her "new" co-stars. She points out, "I've never really had a scene, other than just 'hello', with some of these people."

And some CBS viewers don't mind the appearances of former reality stars. The most recent being Survivor's Colby Donaldson on Young & the Restless, who had the time of his life. But some of the other film and TV stars (John Abbott and Michael Nouri, notably) are a great addition as they keep the show fresh and provide comic relief.
