As the World Turns Singer Ryan Cabrera guests October 12 to sing to Dusty and Lucy. A trucker (David Conley) gives Carly some information October 11 to 13. Orderly Otis Griggs (Stu "Large" Riley) appears October 11 to 14. Alfonso (Lou Bonacki) is a janitor appearing October 12 and 14.

Days of Our Lives Eugenia (Daphne Bloomer) is back October 12.

General Hospital Lana (Jennifer O'Dell) the hit woman is hired to thump Durant.

Guiding Light INS agents (Baylen Thomas and Tom Day) have some news for Olivia October 12. Jeffrey's D.C. superior (Chuck Montgomery) is in October 15. Josh (Robert Newman) returns October 15.

One Life to Live Dr. Paige Miller (Kimberlin Brown) begins October 12.

NEWS & RUMORS

Two ABC faves are staying. Maurice Benard has cemented his new deal with General Hospital. Marcy Walker will be staying on All My Children -- in recurring status.

Soaps as Commercials? On AMC, Fusion has created a real fragrance. Enchantment began appearing on Wal-Mart shelves in late September. On Passions, Jessica is a Mark cosmetics representative. Mark is the kid sister company to Avon. And on One Life to Live, Marcie's book, The Killing Club will actually hit bookstores this February. It's written by ex- head writer Josh Griffith.

And speaking of OLTL's Marcie (Kathy Brier) and Al (Nathaniel Marston) haven't been together much this summer. Fans are hoping they'll get a story and so are Kathy Brier and Nathaniel Marston. Kathy says she'd love to see the show tackle Marcie's weight as a story in the two years she has left in her contract. She also says, "Nathaniel is getting better [from his injury]. He's antsy right now."

Heather Tom (Kelly, OLTL) has a role in Hecuba playing at the Bleecker Theatre through October 30 in New York City.

OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME

Cameron Mathison (Ryan, AMC) is hosting SOAPnet's I Wanna Be a Soap Star. The show premieres October 16 with six men and women vying for a 13-week contract role with General Hospital. The show teaches and tests the dozen hopefuls in a variety of techniques, including how to do a love scene. Each week one or more contestants will get axed. The judges are GH casting director Mark Teschner, talent manager Michael Bruno and Daytime Emmy winner Debbi Morgan (Ellen, Port Charles/Angie, AMC). Look for the show to air at 8 p.m. EDT with the winner announced November 20. The next week, the winner begins the stint on GH.
