There has got to be something in the air in Soap Land. Another departure of a long-time favorite is making news. This time, at Young & the Restless.

As the World Turns Michael Cardelle takes over the role of Rafael February 25. Les (Michael Lowry) returns next month.

Bold & the Beautiful Natalie DeWitt (Patricia Crowley) is Morgan's mom, beginning March 16. Gabriella (Shanelle Workman), Helen's daughter begins March 24.

Days of Our Lives A mystery character (Dan Wells) begins February 28. The role is said to be for 6 months.

One Life to Live Eddie Two Bags (Jeff Robbins) might come to Blair's rescue March 4.

NEWS & RUMORS

A Young & the Restless shocker...Ashley Bashioum is out as Mackenzie Browning. A show's spokesperson claims they want to take the character in a different direction and Ashley's schedule at school would prevent that. Starting March 28, Rachel Kimsey (Fortune Cookie) will assume the role.

Bold & the Beautiful's Sydney Penny (Sam) will drop to recurring status for a little while as Sydney concentrates on filming her second McBride movie, McBride: The Doctor is Out...Really Out.

All My Children will soon be adding two female characters: Sydney Cox and Dinah, Krystal's cellmate.

Dylan Denton (JJ, As the World Turns) recently broke his leg in a skiing accident and is using crutches. The injury will be written into the show.

All My Children Ethan makes an accusation against Zach. Ryan grows leery of Jonathan. Kendall and Greenlee formulate a plan with David.

As the World Turns Celia sets out to make her dreams come true. Jennifer worries over her future. Lily and Carly try to clean up their mess.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Sarah Brown (Julia Larrabee, As the World Turns) sarahbrown.net

Winner of 3 of the 4 Emmys she was nominated for at General Hospital, Sarah began her career at the L.A. High School for Performing Arts. On her 19th birthday, she starred in VR Troopers, which made her a household name, especially among children. Two years later she auditioned for the role of Carly Benson on General Hospital. She remained there for the next five years.

In April 2001 she announced that she was leaving. An outpouring of fan support to Sarah directly and Disney/ABC chairman Michael Eisner soon followed. Unfortunately, she made the switch to primetime, appearing in Without a Trace, L.A. Dragnet and Mysterious Ways.
