Editor's Note

In the news this week are updates from some recent rumors. Enjoy!

? ? ? ? ?  INS

All My Children Jonathan (Jeff Branson) will return sometime -- somehow -- this summer. Garret (Lamman Rucker) will be Mimi's fiance, Danielle's stepfather beginning July 4. (It looks as if Garret's storyline will last longer than Mimi's.)

General Hospital Doug Mancino (Paolo Presta) begins as the owner of the Pizza Shack June 15.

Guiding Light Wallace (Marcus Dean Fuller) will blackmail Alan June 7 through the 9th.

Young & the Restless Warton (David "Shark" Fralick) returns June 9.

OUTS

All My Children Look for both Maria (Eva La Rue) and Maddie (Aryana Rodriguez) to exit in the next few weeks.

As the World Turns Les (Michael Lowry) is out June 9.

Young & the Restless Bobby (John Enos) is to exit this summer. The exit is due to the show's budget cuts.

NEWS & RUMORS

Update...Kim Zimmer (Reva, Guiding Light) is staying! She will remain at the soap through to June 2006 "and then some," she says. Good news for her, she's escaped the pay cut this time. However, the news isn't as good for Jerry ver Dorn (Ross). After 26 years and due to health problems, ver Dorn has been bumped to recurring status.

Unfortunately for All My Children fans, it doesn't look like Cady McClain (Dixie) will return. Apparently, according to head writer Megan McTavish, Cady isn't interested in doing "daytime at all right now."

Surprising recast here...After two decades with General Hospital, Kristina Wagner (Felicia) is out June 8. On the 9th, Sandra Ferguson assumes the role. It appears that Wagner was hoping for the role to go to contract with Maxie's heart-transplant story, but that didn't pan out, prompting Wagner to exit.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Kathy Brier (Marcie Walsh, One Life to Live)

Originally slated as a recurring role, viewers took to Marcie, netting Kathy a contract role in December 2002, two months after the character's debut. Prior to her One Life to Live role, she was on Broadway in Hairspray as Tracy Turnblad.

Kathy was born and raised in Staten Island and went on to study theater and business at Wagner College where she received her BS in Arts Administration. One Life to Live is her first major TV appearance.

Alongside her role in Hairspray are roles in Funny Girl, I Oughta Be In Pictures, Cinderella and Grease. Off-Broadway credits include Bat Boy The Musical, The Prince and the Pauper, O'Casey Knock and Tango Ballad. Kathy currently lives in Manhattan and enjoys reading and swimming.
