SPOTLIGHT ON...Phil Carey (Asa
Buchanan, One Life to Live)
Phil was a U.S. Marine during World
War II and the Korean War. His first film role was in Operation Pacific
with John Wayne. The film netted him a long-term contract with Warner
Brothers, and later with Columbia Pictures. Those contracts saw him starring
in Springfield Rifle with Gary Cooper, Mister Roberts with Henry
Fonda, Fighting Mad with Peter Fonda, The Long Gray Line with
Tyrone Power and Pushover with Fred MacMurray and Kim Novak.
Primetime roles include Philip
Marlowe, Laredo, All in the Family, Little House on the
Prairie, The Bionic Woman and Gunsmoke. On stage, Phil's
been in Arthur Miller's All My Sons and Cyrano de Bergerac.
Phil was raised on Long Island in
Rosedale and Malverne. His dream was to be an actor. He studied drama at the
University of Miami. He is a father of three and an accomplished horseman.
