NEWS & RUMORS

A recent Internet chat between Days of Our Lives' Drake Hogestyn (John) and Lauren Koslow (Kate) is causing a whole lotta trouble. It seems the actors were encouraging fans to push for a John/Kate [Jate] romance (again) and were purposely trying to sabotage their current on-screen pairings. An excerpt from the chat: "The more the media hears from you about photos of Jate the better...Kaman's [Kate and Roman] marriage is over. Let's hope J&M [John and Marlena] is next...TPTB [the powers that be] realize there is a huge groundswell for JATE and the phone calls are 95 percent for us...We are not giving up!" A Days spokesperson admitted that the chat did occur, but that was it. No one has released any official comment yet.

More bad news from the Guiding Light camp. Both Nancy St. Alban and Paul Anthony Stewart (popular core-couple Michelle and Danny) have been fired "in a storyline-dictated manner". Seems the Bauers are out and the Coopers are in.

Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia) and Young & the Restless -- by mutual agreement -- have placed Williams on recurring status. The actress is extremely busy with other projects right now. She directs films, manages her own film festival, Real World Film Festival (in Canada) and chairs the Toronto Film Board plus she just bought an apartment in Paris. Whew, I'm tired just thinking about all that.
