Editor's Note

Not a lot of new news, but more rumors and head-scratchers have emerged.

     INS

As the World Turns BJ Green (Brian Gaskill) is Katie's secret admirer, starting September 27.

Days of Our Lives Nico (Lorenzo Caccialanza) returns September 13. A bartender (Reichen Lehmkuhl, The Amazing Race 4) is in September 29.

Guiding Light Maureen (Ellen Parker) reappears September 13. Stephanie (now played by Charity Henson) is seen September 15.

One Life to Live Rachel (Ellen Bethea) returns the second week of October to see Nora through a health crisis.

Passions Phoebe (real-life daughter of Juliet Mills, Melissa Caulfield), the nanny begins September 28.

Young & the Restless A magazine editor (Kaysar Ridha, Big Brother 6) appears October 5 aboard the Newman jet.

OUTS

Young & the Restless Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) "leave" September 29; the actors are off on their annual summer vacations.

NEWS & RUMORS

Remember last week's rumor about General Hospital's Jennifer Bransford (Carly) being let go? That's true -- and confirmed. Bransford was well-liked by cast and crew, but wasn't clicking as Carly the way the show had hoped. (Apparently, GH fan websites were brutal in their criticisms of her). The soap has hired just let-go Laura Wright (Cassie) from Guiding Light. In another surprising move General Hospital has let Kari Wuhrer (Reese) go. The role will not be recast.

And remember last week's rumors that Jerry verDorn (Ross, Guiding Light) may be taking over the role of One Life to Live's Clint? That's true too; but the other big name in contention is Brian Kerwin (Greg Foster, Young & the Restless).

Plus, a Mr. Grant Aleksander (Phillip, Guiding Light) was seen at As the World Turns with a script in his hands. Is he filming scenes, directing or observing to direct? Looks like something we'll need to keep an eye on...
