Editor's Note

While reading over the news stories this week, I thought it was kind of light. But, looking at the section now, it's not, so let's dive right in.

     INS

Days of Our Lives Carrie (Christie Clark), Sami's sister, reappears December 2. Dr. Hans Schnitzel (Brian Cousins) is in November 14, 15 and 17.

One Life to Live Captain Haskell (played now by Arnie Mazer) "debuts" November 10. Denton (Thomas J. Waits) is sticking around; Waits nabbed a contract role. Dallas (real-life wife of Robert S. Woods, Loyita Chapel), Clint's girlfriend, issues Clint an ultimatum.

Young & the Restless Eric (Bold & the Beautiful's John McCook) will be a guest at Lauren and Michael's December wedding.

NEWS & RUMORS

Guiding Light gets a new look on November 14. The new opening was directed by executive producer Ellen Wheeler to display "the feeling that these characters have." And "the warmth that exists when you spend your time with these characters."

Passions' Charles Divins (Chad) is staying put with the soap, despite his recent work on the UPN sitcom Half & Half. The terms of Divins' new contract haven't been released, so congrats to him and the soap.

Marriages to report -- Frank Parker (Shawn, Days of Our Lives) wed Mary Garofalo October 22 in Vacaville, California...Joseph Mascolo (Massimo, Bold & the Beautiful) married Patricia Schultz October 22 at the Bel Air Country Club...Forbes March (Nash, One Life to Live) has been secretly married to his longtime love for eight years(!). For more details, check out his appearance on Soap Talk.

Baby news -- Eric Martsolf (Ethan, Passions) and wife Lisa are expecting twins in March 2006...Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline, One Life to Live) and husband Alexis Johnson are expecting their first child; no word on whether it will be written into the show.

More -- Guiding Light's Danny and Michelle (Paul Anthony Stewart and Nancy St. Alban) exit November 22... All My Children's Greenlee will be recast...Young & the Restless' Judith Chapman (Gloria) is NOT leaving, so breath a sigh of relief...This is the second time I've heard this, so I'll put it out there for you, One Life to Live's Tika Sumpter (Layla) may be out and the role recast.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Alexandra Chando (Madeline "Maddie" Coleman, As the World Turns)

Alexandra joined As the World Turns in July as Maddie Coleman, Henry's sister.

Alexandra began her acting career at the tender age of 8 via community theater. In high school, she appeared in productions as the lead in Anything Goes and Our Miss Brooks. She starred as Jenna on the WB series pilot House Blend and a role on Fertile Ground, a Fox series pilot. In L.A., she spent her time screen testing for various pilots in 2004 and 2005.
