Editor's Note

Some major recasts are on the way and some old favorites are on their way back home. But the big news, one top star wants out!

     INS

Guiding Light A reverend (Armand Schultz) appears as Tammy and Sandy prepare to take their vows November 22 and 23.

Passions Judge Reilly (Bruce Gray) is back November 28. Norma (Marianne Muellerleile) returns November 25. Aunt Irma (Marla Gibbs) comes home for a long while (until at least January) beginning November 30.

Young & the Restless JoAnna (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is back December 2.

OUTS

As the World Turns Luke (Jake Weary) will undergo a change in the next few weeks. Weary is out November 29. Officially, because the taping began to conflict with his schedule at school; though rumors suggest he quit due to a planned gay storyline. Van Hansis will take over December 14.

Days of Our Lives Sophie's (Sung Hi) run has finally come to an end. What was supposed to be a 6 to 8 episode role turned out to be about 12.

General Hospital Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) will undergo a change, temporarily, as well. Earlier this month, Christopher broke his arm in Malibu, California. The break was so severe that it required emergency surgery and a metal plate to be inserted into his arm. Christopher was also forced to back out of his appearance at Super Soap Weekend. The actor will be out for at least a week; his recuperation begins December 5. However, the soap needs a Nikolas, so Chris Beetem (Jordan, As the World Turns) will assume the role temporarily, starting December 6.

Guiding Light Danny and Michelle (Paul Anthony Stewart and Nancy St. Alban) both exit November 22.

NEWS

A few short months after renewing contract with Guiding Light, Crystal Chappell (Olivia) has asked to be released from it. Rumor has it, she's supposed to head back to One Life to Live as a different character, not Maggie (as she played from 1995 to 1997). The actress insists it's for personal reasons, not to head to another soap. GL has refused to let her go and say they have a great upcoming story for Olivia.

SPOTLIGHT ON...Kyle Brandt (Philip Kirakis, Days of Our Lives) www.kylebrandt.com

Widely recognized for his stint on MTV's Real World: Chicago, Kyle's first gig was as The King in his fourth-grade production of The King and I. While growing up, Kyle appeared in print and commercials as a model, thanks to his parents. His mom is a successful commercial actress and his dad is an advertising executive.

After high school, tired of being the typical jock, he dived head-first into a freshman acting class and like many others before him, got bitten hard. Kyle is a Princeton graduate, having been a member and officer of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and being a Princeton Tigers running back for 4 years. During those summers at college, he divided his time between honing his acting and football skills. Kyle participated in the summer theatre programs at Northwestern University, Chicago's well-known Second City and the NY Film Academy.

Kyle was born in Hinsdale, but grew up in Indianhead Park and Lincolnshire, all three are northern Chicago suburbs. Currently, Kyle lives in Los Angeles and enjoys movies, music and working out. He plays on a basketball league twice a week.
