Editor's Note

All My Children fans are getting another Christmas gift from the show. (I'm sure all of you already know this, but I have to announce it too because it's GREAT news!!) Not only did fan-favorite Bianca (Eden Riegel) return December 16, but the long-awaited, long-anticipated return of Dixie (Cady McClain) is going to happen at the end of today's episode. The soap is going to create a weekly blog describing what Dixie has been doing while presumed dead. (The network has experience with this; they created one when Robin McCullough recently returned to General Hospital as Robin.)

I wish all of you a very happy holiday season, and I hope next year brings you everything you desire. I'll talk at y'all next Friday.

     INS

All My Children Blasts from the past! Dixie (Cady McClain) returns December 23 and Michael (William de Vry) is back in February as brother Zach has a nightmare.

As the World Turns Kevin (Carl Girolamo) is Luke's friend and the two will grow much closer in the coming weeks.

Days of Our Lives Dr. Banks (Gigi Birmingham) is a former classmate of Alex and Marlena's on December 22.

General Hospital Milo (Drew Cheetwood, real-life cousin of Tyler Christopher -- Nikolas -- and brother of Dirk Cheetwood -- Max) is one of Sonny's bodyguards on December 19.

One Life to Live Claudia (Kerry Butler) is Nash's former fiancee January 18. Previously, Butler played Heather in 2000. Nina (Betsy Beutler) is the new assistant manager at Ultra Violet January 4. Dr. Jacobs (David Hess) performs Jessica's amniocentesis January 12.

OUTS

All My Children Sam (Bobby Steggert) leaves Pine Valley to spend Christmas with his family in California December 20.

As the World Turns BJ (Brian Gaskill) is done December 28.

Guiding Light Vanessa (Maeve Kinkead) wraps it up December 22.

Young & the Restless Tom (Roscoe Born) is due to exit soon; he taped his last show December 6.

NEWS & RUMORS

While All My Children is taking a page from General Hospital's book (giving Dixie a weekly blog like they did with Robin), GH will be taking a page from AMC. Manny (Robert LaSardo, right) is going to be undergoing a change much like AMC's Jonathan. Despite Manny's threats and causing the train wreck, he will undergo surgery for a brain disorder. In a homage to AMC, they will even reference a Pine Valley case as "research precedents" on December 30.

If you're a Passions fan, you can catch the show from its July 5, 1999 debut starting February 6 on the Sci Fi Channel, (one of NBC's cable cousins) beginning at 9 a.m.
