Riding the trail just isn't what it used to be. Now a days, we use cars, motorcycles, and airplanes to do what used to be done with horses and pack mules. Today the true die hards use horses and llamas. Hunting and fishing permits are way down, private camping and float tours are way up. The fire season starts now in May instead of July, and wilderness that Bob Bainbridge saw is just disappearing at an alarming rate to the neglect of man kind.

Yup, the mountains have found a new gold fever, tourism. For an area that still fits the official description of "frontier" -- one house per 60 miles or less, just like Pat Ford, the gold is in the general store, not in the ground. Tourists end up telling others and more come from back East to see what the West was really like.

Of course we can't blame them. We've known of it all along. Thats why we're here on the Trail. Next time you're here on the Trail with us, bring your friends. Show them around the mountains and streams. I guarantee, it won't be the same when they see it next.

Idaho is a hidden gem, but more and more people are learning about it as proved by the popularity of Boise. Romantic destinations in Idaho are a great choice, but be warned that you might not want to go home.

Nestled among the western mountains of the United States is the unassuming state of Idaho. While not well known as a vacation destination as of yet, more and more people are journeying to this state so that they can enjoy the majestic natural beauty and unspoiled terrain of the area. The natural wonders here also make a great backdrop for planning romantic destinations in Idaho – what couple doesn't want to spend some time in front of a roaring fire snug in a mountain cabin?

One resort in Idaho has specially designed a retreat just for romantics and lovers seeking refuge and solitude. Snowed Inn is an adventurer's paradise, nestled high above in the Idaho Mountains. Located just outside the city limits of McCall, Idaho, Snowed Inn is a vacation rental cabin that allows all of the alone time and exploration of the natural setting that couples crave. Set on 11 private wooded acres, you can literally snowshoe right outside of your front door!

Just about everyone now knows the new version of The Bitterroot Trail has been released. If you haven't seen it yet, which is possible if you do your book shopping at Fictionwise, Amazon, or Powell's, ... follow the links on our own website to Uncial. This version has come out with incredible detail, better than we had anticipated. Even LD Cramm's art work is spectacularly sharp on the computer and in E-book readers. If you haven't checked this out, I urge you to pick up a copy today.

We have two of the four reviews we requested returned to us. These you can find excerpted on the main page of our website. You should be able to locate the full reviews from the magazines and websites. If you have problems locating them, send us a note and we'll research the links and print them in this newsletter.

We have been considering the idea of running a contest here for the most email referals. The logistics of exactly how to do this has escaped our lasso at the moment. If any of you Trail Hands have suggestions, let me know.
