There are wars that you do not win by force -- Introduction Much more in the shadow: the criticism of
the anti-war groups: why did the government allow the army to such a wild
escalation including bombing of residential areas. Gush Shalom
wrote to Olmert, demanding that these more fundamental questions
will be included, and considers going to the Supreme Court if
needed.
Here follows TOI's selection of this
week's Occupation Magazine's daily picks
A Tsunami of Confusion - Antisemitism
and the Arab-Israeli conflict
Tony Klug - Prospect Magazine - "There is
little doubt that there has been a marked increase in open antipathy towards
Jews in a number of countries around the world, most strikingly among Arabs and
Muslims. If this trend continues much longer, the mood it reflects could become
firmly entrenched within these societies. While deeply worrying, there is no
mystery about what has triggered it."

MachsomWatch – Huwwara, Sunday, 13.8.06, PM: “Children and mothers tell us they have been standing for over two hours in the special `humanitarian` line. Also from the `humanitarian` line: the securing soldier points his rifle at the passers chests 30 cm. away […] Women tell us of [...] hours of waiting, hysterical girl sobbing incessantly, a very pregnant woman (perhaps beginning labor) who could be extricated from there only with great difficulty […] anyone not standing still like a mummy is considered a troublemaker and is restrained and thrown to the detainees` concrete cell. During our vigil at least three different men were treated that way, hands restrained behind their back” http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=15889 Occupation
