In the West Bank area between Jerusalem and the settlement of Maaleh Adumim, demonstrators set up a small house, complete with a concrete foundation, and raised Palestinian flags. "We are trying to make a new Palestinian suburb on land that is threatened with expropriation," said Bil`in activist Abdullah Abu Rahme.

 Report: Hamas wants cease-fire with Israel in the Gaza Strip
Haaretz & agencies - Hamas is making efforts to reach a ceasefire with Israel in the Gaza Strip, London-based newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi reported Saturday. According to the report, senior Hamas officials are attempting to dissuade militants from firing Qassam rockets and mortar shells from the Strip into southern Israel in efforts to prevent a wide Israel Defense Forces ground operation in the Hamas-ruled territory. Islamic Jihad sources told the Al-Quds al-Arabi that the group had agreed to Hamas` proposal, but only if the Israel agrees to a mutual ceasefire.

 Fuel crunch adds to misery in Gaza
Associated Press - Ynet - The United Nations has asked Israel to resume full fuel shipments and expressed concern about the station owners` protests. And Israeli human rights groups went to court trying to block the sanctions. "These cuts are designed to gradually and deliberately decrease the level of economic and humanitarian activity that can take place in Gaza at the expense of 1.5 million people who have no way to defend themselves," said Sari Bashi, director of Gisha, one of the rights groups.

 Livni to push for international force in Gaza
Herb Keinon - Jerusalem Post - (...) the idea of deploying NATO forces in Gaza has been raised as one way of possibly reinstating Abbas there, with the idea that he would "ride in" on NATO`s back. Sources close to Livni said that the idea of NATO involvement here, as well as greater Israeli involvement in NATO [sic!], would be on Livni`s agenda in her talks with the NATO chief.
