Amos Oz against
Gaza invasion: `Ceasefire with Hamas` Kol Israel radio interview -
We had armistices for thirty years with Arab countries which did not recognize
us, and declared their wish to destroy Israel, but the ceasefires worked.

The Palestinian PM: Israeli is not
fulfilling it`s obligations IMEMC - During a speech delivered in the
US capital Washington, Fayyad criticized Israel for requesting bids to build 300
additional housing units in Jerusalem during the week that followed the
Annapolis conference, as well as not easing restrictions on military checkpoints
in the West Bank which led to Israel receiving a rare reprimand from the United
States government. Fayyad demanded a removal of the Israeli military checkpoints
in the West Bank "the checkpoints cannot disappear overnight but why not start
the process." http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=25129
Challenges on the ground threaten
progress in negotiations Gershon Baskin - Jerusalem Post - The
bombing in Dimona is only the latest example of the difficulty of Israel in
leaving the work of security to the PA alone [but] there are many examples of
continued Israeli control over the lives of Palestinians that can easily be
removed. For example: a new school being built in the village of Dir Balout near
Salfit (a town between Ramallah and Nablus) is facing a demolition order from
the Civil Administration because of various bureaucratic issues. Why?

Israel`s `next logical step`
Ali Abunimah - Electronic Intifada - With its escalation in Gaza and refusal
to accept a ceasefire, Israel may be trying to provoke more rocket attacks and
force Hamas into abandoning its political strategy altogether to provide the
needed pretext to "decapitate" the organization. Unfortunately, there are signs
that Hamas is jumping into the trap. http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=25131
Army confiscating NIS 3 million from
West Bank money changers Ma`an News - The Israeli military attacked
money changers in several West Bank cities on Tuesday, closing shops and
confiscating large sums of money, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.

Jerusalem police rounding up
Palestinians for seeking justice ISM - Palestinians in Silwan who
appealed to the Israeli Supreme Court to stop settlers from digging tunnels
under their homes were rounded up by the Israel police. http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=25132
State Prosecutor`s Office to close Abir
Aramin case Aviram Zino - Ynet - The State Prosecutor`s Office
denies petition against Jerusalem District Court`s decision in the case of
10-year old Aramin, allegedly killed by stray Border Guard rubber bullet in
2007; reiterates original ruling of undetermined cause of death. Rights group
Yesh Din may appeal decision further. http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=25127
1100 more Jews-only appartments in
occupied East Jerusalem AP - Jerusalem Post - Housing Minister
Ze`ev Boim: "We are building all over Jerusalem within its municipal borders"
[i.e.: the extended East Jerusalem unilaterally annexated to Israel in
1967-ed.]. "The Ministry is preparing to carry out the infrastructure work that
has to be done before bids are issued for 750 apartments in Pisgat Ze`ev. Some
370 apartments are in the pipeline for Har Homa, in addition to 350 apartments
already put out to bid", he said. http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=25125
A discussion with Walt and
Mersheimer Wajahat Ali - Counterpunch - A point we make in our book
and make all the time is that the Israel Lobby in pushing for unconditional
American support for Israel, and in some elements, pushing for hair-brained
schemes like invading Iraq, it has been bad for the United States and
unintentionally bad for Israel, too. It`s incorrect to see the Lobby as always
pro-Israel. A lot of what they are supporting is very bad for Israel.

After Winograd, the International Court
of Justice Michael Warschawski - alternativenews (AIC) - While the
Winograd Commission acted in accordance with its limited mandate as given by the
government that appointed it, it failed as the body responsible for examining
the subject of human rights and the heavy suspicions concerning war crimes
committed by the Israeli military in Lebanon. http://www.kibush.co.il/show_file.asp?num=25137
