WEDDINGS

Wedding FAQs

Question:

Who is invited to the Rehearsal dinner according to proper etiquette? Are all guests and the vendors invited too?

Answer:

Traditionally, only those who are actually required to participate in the rehearsal i.e. everyone who has any role to play in the Wedding Ceremony, are invited. This will include the Bride and Groom, their parents, the Officiant, the Wedding party including kids if they are attendants and the readers. Naturally, their spouses/dates will have to be invited as well.

Apart from them, you may, if you wish, extend the guest list to include close relatives and friends and out of town guests.

Question:

I was wondering what I am supposed to do with the leftover cake after all the guests have been served a portion. Is it okay to take it home?

Answer:

By all means it is okay to take the remaining cake home. Portions of the cake may be taken home and some of it may be shipped to relatives and friends who were not able to make it to the wedding.

Some couples even store a portion of the cake to eat at their first wedding anniversary, or at the christening of their first child.

PETS

Choosing a Kennel for Your Dog

If you are a pet owner and you need to be away from your dog or dog for more than a day, you probably will need to house your pet in a kennel. Kennels are like motels for pets. Kennels take care of your pets when their owners aren’t available. While there are many different types of kennels, it is important to plan ahead in order to assure that your pet is safe and comfortable while you are away from home. Here are some tips on choosing a kennel.

When choosing a kennel plan ahead. Don’t wait till the last minute to contact kennels around your area. If you have recently moved to a new area or have a new pet, do some research and check out the local kennels. You don’t want to receive word that you have to leave home in a few hours, only to rush and drop off your pet at a kennel that you don’t feel comfortable with.

When talking to the kennel personnel, make sure you ask lots of questions about the size of the cage, amenities and diet they give to the dogs. If you have more than one dog, ask if they can be together or in adjoining cages. Some kennels are climate controlled, while others are not. It is also important to make the kennel aware of any health problems or other issues your pet may have.

Choosing the right kennel will give you piece of mind, when you are away from your pet. Leaving your pet for someone else to care for is a very serious issue for many pet owners, which is why it is extremely important when choosing a kennel.

KIDS CRAFTS

Cool Photo Frames

Materials:

Wooden picture frame/s
Glue, tape
Paint
String
Sea shells, sand, small pebbles, jigsaw pieces, buttons
Cardboard
Dry pasta shapes
Your favorite photos

How-to

Sea theme frame
Collect some shells, sand and some small pebbles from the beach. Paint the frame blue. Apply glue to half of the frame (the bottom half) and cover with the sand. Once this is done glue on the small pebbles and shells. Draw a small sun from card, paint it yellow and glue it to the top right corner. Of course you could cover the whole of the frame in shells if you desire.

Jazzy frame
Paint the frame any colour you like but for a jazzy look bright pinks and yellows look best. Decide on what pasta shapes you would like to use. Now lay them on a sheet of paper the same size as the frame and experiment with the design. Once you have got your desired design paint the pasta shapes in a variety of colours. Glue them to the frame and stick in a photo of you and your friends.

Button frame
You can usually pick up bags of buttons from fairs, charity shops, for net to nothing or ask your nan or your mother if they have any. I have collected bags of buttons, beads and other bits and pieces for years they always come in handy. Glue a mass of different shapes, sizes and coloured buttons to your frame. It will look amazing.

Puzzle frame
Don`t throw out that jigsaw that has half the pieces missing - instead paint them in bright colours and make a frame for your favourite photo.

Paint the jigsaw in your favourite colours. You can either have them multi-colours or just two colours such as black and white. Glue the photo to a piece of card that is just a bit bigger. Once your jigsaw pieces are dry glue them to the card. They must overlap so that you cant see any of the card. Tape a bit of string to the back to hang from the wall.
