10 Ways to Advertise Your
Business For Free!
At some point many small business
owners are left with no or a small amount of capital to promote
their business. But many entrepreneurs utilize these free or
low budget yet effective tactics to promote their business online
and offline.
1. Print out flyers or business cards and take them to your local
stores, banks, beauty shops etc.
2. Word of mouth never fails, so tell your friends to tell their
friends.
3. Make a cookie, candy or fruit basket and take it to your local
store with your business cards.
4. Exchange links with other sites.
5. Post your brochures business cards at your local bulletin
board.
6. At a restaurant when tipping include your card.
7. Send a press release to your local newspaper.
8. Submit your site to search engines and directories.
9. Give out free samples, promotional products, e-books etc.
10. Write articles for others to use on their website and
newsletter include your web site URL and a brief description of
your services/products.

THANKSGIVING
PARTY GAMES
Bird, Beast,
or Fish
You have to think fast for this game. Everyone sits facing the
leader.
The leader points to one of the players and says either
"BIRD,"
"BEAST," or "FISH." The chosen player must
come up with the name of an
animal that fits the category before the leader counts to ten. No
repeating! If the player does not respond in time, she is out. The
game
continues until only one player remains. As you can guess, after a
few
rounds it can be hard to think of an animal that has not already
been
mentioned!
Thanksgiving Memory Game
The players sit in a circle. The first player starts by saying,
"At
Thanksgiving dinner I ate turkey." The next player must
repeat this and
add another dish, "At my Thanksgiving dinner I ate turkey and
cranberry." The third player must repeat it and add yet
another dish,
"At Thanksgiving dinner I ate turkey, cranberry, and
stuffing." The
game continues with each player adding an item to the menu after
first
listing all the previous items in the exact order they were first
said.
If a player makes a mistake he drops out and the game continues
until
there is just one person left.
Bean Toss - Good for Classrooms
You will need: Three to Five dry beans per student Chair Large
bowl or
tin pie plate. Have children divide into two teams. Each child is
given
five beans. On your mark the children will take a seat in a chair,
that
is set a distance from the bowl, and try to throw their beans, one
at a
time, into the bowl. The team with the most beans in the bowl at
the
end of the relay wins.
Determine
the distance for the bowls based on your age group, the older
the farther apart you place the bowls.
Thanksgiving Trivia
Here is one that the whole family can enjoy after the big
Thanksgiving meal. In a piece of paper write down several
questions regarding the history behind Thanksgiving and 4 possible
answers, but only one is correct. For example, one of the
questions could be:
- From the following foods which one was not likely to be at the
pilgrims
table? a) Corn b) Potatos c)Yams d) Beans
Answer is b, potatoes
And whoever
guesses the most answers from the quiz gets a box of
chocolates or any other prize. Of course whoever is preparing the
game
has to do a little bit of research, but you can find the info
easily on the net or the library.
HEALTH RECIPE
Mixed Fruit Shake
Makes:
2 serving
Ingredients:
1 banana, chopped
1 cup non/lowfat mixed-berry yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup sliced strawberries or
3 1/2 tablespoons strawberry jam
1/4 cup kiwi, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup orange juice concentrate
1/4 cup chopped dates
2 tablespoons wheat germ
6 ice cubes
Directions:
Place all ingredients in blender,
add ice cubes and mix well.
Nutritional Information:
Serving size: 1 1/2 cups
Calories: 215
Fat: 0 g
Cholesterol: 0 g
Protein: 9 g
Fiber: 3 g
Sodium: 60 mg

BEAUTY RECIPE
Foaming Vanilla Honey Bath
1 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup liquid soap
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (pure is better)
Mix together all the ingredients and pour into a clean bottle
with a
tight fitting stopper of lid.
To use: Shake before using. Pour 1/4 cup into the bath under
running
water.
