SELF IMPROVEMENT
Make Wednesdays a Power Day – Banish Hump Day Forever With
These Tips
This uplifting author, Joanie Winberg,
better known as the Happy Wednesday Lady, is feeling extremely
energized about spreading the word of Happy Wednesday. The
passionate writer plans on making Wednesday a Power Day and
banishing the dreaded middle of the week’s “hump day” reputation
forever. And she can do it too. Wouldn't it be awesome if everyone
felt that way about Wednesdays? Think about it, rather than only
existing for the weekends, you could feel better each and every day
of the week.
Can you see how much more you would
accomplish? How many more good days you would have? And finally,
what a difference this could make not only in your life, but all
those around you.
Winberg’s 10 Power Tips offer just what you do to do it. Here are
just a few:
1. Start your day with an
inspirational tip. Journal what you are going to do differently to
make today a better day. Winberg has the perfect Journal and
Inspirational CD Set to assist you at http://www.HappyWednesday.com.
2. Find your favorite inspirational quote and make it a part of your
day.
3. In the morning, write down three things you are grateful for.
4. Look for the good. Focus on what is going right in a situation
versus what is wrong or not working.
5. Do an act of kindness. Now consider, how does this make you feel?
Can you imagine the difference if everyone did even one act of
kindness each and every Wednesday?
6. Forgive someone and make amends with a relationship gone sour.
How good would that feel? You then have brand new relationships and
renewed friendships.
7. Call someone you haven't talked to in a long time to say hello.
Tell them you’ve been thinking of them.
8. Call or e-mail a member of your family and tell them how much you
appreciate them or how much you appreciate having them in your life.
9. Do one good thing for yourself. Something you normally wouldn’t
do.
10. Have some fun. Make Wednesday night family fun night. Yes, you
still can get the kids to bed on time for school. But devote one
hour to something fun for you and your family.
Committing yourself to working on
your Wednesday attitude keeps you in high spirits every day of the
week. And if you need a little help in making that happen, Winberg
provides her Happy Wednesday Broadcast, a 90 second midweek “BOOST”
to help. Winberg’s commitment is to help make everyone’s daily joy
contagious and bringing the feeling of gratitude into an
individual’s life. It provides inspirational quotes and tips to help
listeners kick off their days with motivation and laughter.

THANKSGIVING DECORATING
Decorating for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving
decorating is all about harvest color scheme of warm yellows,
gold’s, burnt reds, browns and greens. Make sure to choose these
colors when selecting ribbons and fabrics to be used for
decorating.
The first step should be to collect all the decorations from
outdoors or indoors. Start gathering colorful fallen leaves,
acorns, pinecones, sticks, twigs and large branches. Use the large
branches to anchor a display on or inside shelves, counter tops or
bookcases. Fill the display with the items you gathered until you
have a collage of color. Also consider stacking logs on your porch
or inside your space, even if you don't have a fireplace.
You can also create a centerpiece using a large attractively
shaped branch, start gluing your leaves and branches in a natural
pattern in and around the branch. You can buy attractive Indian
corn and gourds at your local grocery store to place next this
centerpiece to complete your Thanksgiving table. Use your harvest
colored ribbons as accents.
Pumpkins also make great Thanksgiving decorations. Let small
children make turkeys out of a pumpkin by gluing large feathers on
it for the tail, and making a face and head with construction
paper and gluing onto the pumpkin. Decorate with pumpkins of all
sizes by adding them to your porch or indoor displays. Just before
your Thanksgiving dinner use them to create homemade pumpkin soup
or pie.

HOLIDAY PLANNING TIPS
A Stress Free Feng Shui Holiday
The holidays are approaching but it’s
never too late to plan ahead for the hustle and bustle of the
season. Feng Shui tips remedies and enhancements can make your
season merry, bright and in harmony at the same time.
Everyone is stressed out during the holidays. Try to avoid other
people’s stress as much as possible. The holidays are emotional as
people remember the good, bad and ugly of their childhoods. If you
are inviting friends and family over for a party or other holiday
festivities, burn some incense or smudge the home with white sage,
sweet grass or cedar. The smudging process neutralizes negative
energy in a space and alters it to all who enter. The guests will
feel like they have left the stresses of the outer world behind and
now they are in a place of calm and solemnity.
Before you consider decking the halls with all of your d?cor, remove
the clutter of everyday life and make room for the special holiday
decorations. It doesn’t make sense to add more decorations on top of
your stuff you look at everyday. Give your home a rest from the
things of everyday and allow it to feel special. You are mixing
things up when you do this and this alters the energy as well. It’s
a good thing. After the clutter is removed, get out the decorations
and look at each one. Allow your feelings to surface because many
vintage ornaments remind us of the past. If your holidays bring up
emotions that you are keeping bottled up inside, give a gift to
yourself and heal the emotions of the past during this time. Bless
the ornaments and give the ones away that aren’t serving you
anymore. Decorate your home with the things and colors that promote
relaxation, health and wellbeing.
When it comes to Feng Shui decorating, indulge your senses during
the holidays by using fresh pine for the tree, wreaths and garland.
Fresh is always better than synthetic. The Christmas tree is the
focal point of the entire holiday season. The tree holds a place of
balance and harmony because it corresponds to every element. It is
made of wood, watered every day, held up in a metal Christmas tree
stand, the lights add fire, and ornaments of ceramic or porcelain
are earth. Place your Christmas tree in the family area of the bagua
because it is green, made of wood and promotes a family gathering.
Have you ever noticed how you feel when the Christmas tree comes
down? There is a sense of disappointment. The tree presents a spirit
of community and harmony. If you find red too much for the senses,
decorate in softer colors or temper the red and green with cream and
white. I decorate one tree with blue lights and colors of teal
around the tree and another smaller tree is in shades of pink for my
husband and me. There is no red in my house because I want balance
from the outer world of traditional reds and greens. Decorating with
alternative unusual colors is one way to maintain balance and my
calm for the holidays. Purple is a nice alternative to red and in
Feng Shui, purple is the color of wealth. Everyone could use a
little more money at the holidays.
Play Christmas carols and get out the soft wooly throws and afghans.
Start the aromatherapy diffusers with calming scents of jasmine or
neroli essential oils. Your home doesn’t have to smell entirely of
cinnamon and pine. However, pine is a symbol of health and longevity
in China so use it wherever possible. Keep your personal chi in
check by taking time to relax. A hot bath, prayer and meditation
slow down the craziness of the holidays. Eat healthy and avoid the
temptations of too much sugar or alcohol. Don’t forget to exercise
and recharge your own batteries and you will stay healthy, relaxed
and calm throughout the holiday season.
