LET'S TALK BUSINESS

6 Benefits To Starting A Home Based Business

There’s no coincidence that hundreds of thousands of people are quitting their 9 to 5 jobs to work at home. Having a home based business provides you with numerous benefits that no other field can offer you. Here are 6 benefits you will find with a home based business.

1. Unless you’re crazy, most people can handle a job without having to deal with their boss. If you have a home business, you are your own boss. You have the ability to create your own deadlines, criticize your own work, and never get in trouble for “arriving” late to work again. Being your own boss does require discipline to assure yourself that you stay on task, but it is definitely a relief to not have to work for someone else.

2. While not everything associated with a home based business is run through the computer, a vast amount of the business will involve working on the computer. If you have a laptop, you are capable of picking up your work and moving at any point in time or taking a vacation and still be able to produce.

3. On the same note of being able to work anywhere, you can plan vacations around the schedules of any and all of your family members. The worst part of a vacation is coming back home. As long as everyone else’s schedules permit, have a home business allows you to extend your vacation because you make your own schedule.

4. Another benefit to being able to make your own schedule with a home based business is the ability to spend more time with the family. You now can make it to your son’s basketball game that you would have normally missed with your 9 to 5 job, or attend your daughter’s ballet recital. It is vital that you still create a business schedule that allows you to be productive and work hard, but now you have options.

5. Because the internet continues to expand ever so quickly, the opportunity for success is there. There are several different ways you can make money and millions of people that surf the internet every day. Therefore, if you develop a quality website with a compelling advertising campaign, the sky is the limit for your home based business.

6. The last benefit to having a home business is personal. It is an honor to know that you started a home business and have had success, and you should be proud to tell family and friends of your business.

Having a home based business provides benefits that no other business in the world can offer. You can work for yourself, create your own schedule, and make all of the decisions for yourself. Oh and by the way, you can do all of this at the expense of your own home.

RECIPES

Rosti

1kg waxy potatoes
salt and pepper
50g butter
2 tbsp oil

Wash the potatoes.
Try to have the potatoes roughly the same size so that they cook evenly.
Place them in a saucepan of boding water. Cover and move to the simmering oven for 20 to 30 minutes until the potatoes are just tender this will depend on the size of the potatoes and the type.
Drain and put to one side to cool.
This can be done the day before they are needed.
Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes seasoning with salt and pepper.
Heat half the butter and oil in a heavy frying pan on the boiling plate and press the potatoes in to make a cake.
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes transferring to the simmering plate if too hot until the bottom is golden and crusty.
Invert the rosti onto a plate. Heat the rest of the butter and oil in the pan slide the rosti back into the pan and cook the second side for about 10 minutes.
Serve hot cut into wedges.

This classic Swiss dish is a popular way of serving potatoes. Serve with thin slices of emmental or gruyere and a side salad for a complete meal.

PARENTING

10 Activities To Do With Your Kids: Stave Off Boredom

1. Go swimming, if you normally go to your local pool see if neighbouring areas have better facilities.

2. Check out your local art galleries and museums, there are often special events and quiz sheets available for the holidays.

3. Make cards or gifts for each other or for relatives and special friends

4. Bake a cake or some biscuits – make unique shapes and sizes. For example, try making pink instant whip, wait for it to thicken up and then spoon out in heart shape and sprinkle with heart shaped sugar decorations. Home made burgers can also be shaped to fit a theme or just for fun!

5. Sort out the old toys and clothes. Ebay the good stuff and offer a proportion of the earnings back as pocket money. Send the rest to the charity shop.

6. If the weather permits get outside for the day and do a spring watch. A walk in the woods should reveal leaves breaking out and snowdrops. See what signs of spring your children can spot.

7. Have an indoor Olympics. Gather up any beanbags, hoops etc in the house, find a stopwatch and race the clock for the best time. Distances etc can be varied for different aged children.

8. Buy a bird feeder, hang it near a window and see who comes to visit. Children should be encouraged to be quiet for this one.

9. Search the web for their favourite TV characters. Most of the TV websites for young children have brilliant websites with printable activity pages and online games to play.

10. Have a disco. Draw the curtains put on a pop DVD or pop TV channel, add any fancy lights you can find.

HOME DECOR

Great Tips On Accessorizing Any Room

No matter your age, you are sure to have a collection of items. Sometimes it is hard to decide how to display your items in your home. Below are several tips to remember when accessorizing a room.

• Accessories can give a room character, but do not overdo it. A small space will look better with a minimal amount of small accessories.

• Do not spread accessories around evenly; instead group them to make a point. Groups of 3 or 5 work well.

• Hang a large painting flanked by smaller ones behind a sofa.

• Enhance a large picture by using a spot light. This will make a great focal point while creating ambiance.

• Using a framed mirror is a great alternative to artwork.

• Make sure that you do not hang your pictures or artwork too high. Your pictures should be hung so that the middle of the picture is at eye level.

• Keep side tables simple with a lamp and a small sculpture or decorative box.

• If you have an empty space, then add plants as a filler. Plants make a great filler and you can easily group them together using varying heights.

• Use family photos to accessorize your room by grouping them together.

• Choose accessories with color to liven up your room. You can pull the color from a piece of furniture that is in the room or decorative pillows.

Remember your accessories should always seem personal and they should tell a story. Display things that you love and that have great meaning.
