HAIRSTYLE TRENDS
Bangs are back with a bang!
We once thought they were only for
school girls, but not anymore. Fashion trends portal
http://www.RampToStore.com
reports it as one of the hottest trends in Spring Summer 2007
Hairstyles.
Celebrities Spotted Wearing Bangs
Reese Witherspoon, Nelly Furtado,
Siena Miller and the fabulous Halle Berry have all been spotted
showing off their bangs at the recent award ceremonies and movie
premieres.
Dress up your fringe
You can choose how to wear your bangs
in a way that flatters your face the most. If you like to do the
unexpected, go in for a full, straight fringe on your forehead. But
if it is too bold for you, go in for a side swept one. Or part your
bangs from the middle like Paris Hilton.
Pin it Up
When you really want it off your
face, there is much more you can do than simply wait for it to grow
out. You can pin them back. It might not always be possible to pin
them high up on your head like Gwen Stefani, but Halle Berry shows
us how to pin it back with style. Check out this hairstyle for
inspiration:

Transfer the pan to the simmering oven for 30 to 45 minutes.

I do not usually like tomato soup but the addition of the red
peppers makes it rich and sweet. This is a good winter soup using
tinned tomatoes.

HOME DECOR
Top 10 tips for wonderful windows
Take a look at the Top 10 "Dos and
Don't's" for exquisite windows courtesy of Mary Dobson, spokesperson
for industry leader, Levolor:
1. Do.....think about function first
when you make a decision for your windows. Consider factors such as
privacy, light control, access to the patio and more.
2. Don't.....be afraid to mix
patterns, textures and colours. Remember, a combination of at least
three makes the room interesting.
3. Do.....aim for a consistent look
on the front of your home. As I always say, the white side of the
shade faces the road.
4. Don't.....skimp on fullness when
choosing drapery. Double fullness is right for a casual look, triple
fullness gives a more formal, sophisticated look.
5. Do.....choose hardware and finials
that reinforce the style you are creating.
It's all about the details.
6. Don't.....leave cords hanging from
your window blinds in rooms where there are children and pets.
Cordless or remote control blinds, or a simple cleat, prevent
accidents from happening.
7. Do.....install blinds so that they
overlap the window casing. Also opt for blackout lining for maximum
energy efficiency or room darkening.
8. Don't.....leave windows bare. The
sun will fade your furniture, floors, carpets and artwork. The
longer you leave your windows bare, the longer it will take you
to adjust to the most simple window
covering.
9. Do.....trust your own taste. It's
your space. Don't canvas the entire neighbourhood or your yoga class
for approval.
10. Don't.....be afraid to ask for
professional help. The experts at Levolor for example will often
will provide home shopping services to be sure you make a good
decision.

FAMILY TRAVEL
Helpful hints for family road trips
(NC)—With the summer right around the corner,
it's time to start planning for the much-anticipated family road
trip. Preparation is key to a stress free journey, from beginning to
end. To help get you off to the right start, here are some essential
tips to make any family trip more enjoyable.
1. Involve Your Kids From The Start: To help
create excitement, get the kids involved in the planning process.
Set aside a couple of nights to plan the trip together and allow
your kids to map out stops along the way.
2. Plan Ahead: It's never too early to book your
summer accommodations. Make your reservations well ahead of time and
look for national hotel chains that cater to families, such as Days
Inn hotels where kids 12 and under stay free when sharing a room
with an adult.
3. Fun For All Ages: Pack a special travel bag
full of favorite items such as games, plush toys, activity booklets,
CDs and electronics. These items will help time fly by and keep kids
entertained for hours.
4. Snack Attack: Be sure to pack an assortment of
snacks to keep the kids from getting hungry between meals. Make the
car ride memorable with special treats that they don't usually get
at home.
5. Say Cheese! Don't forget to pack a disposable
or digital camera for the kids. Let them help create memories by
taking plenty of pictures – you'll return from a great trip with
pictures that captured the moments.
6. Schedule Stops Along The Way: Make the road
trip exciting and take advantage of sights along the way. Plan
routine breaks so that the whole family can burn off some energy.
Before you leave check out the 'route planner' on
www.daysinn.ca for great route
ideas.
7. Avoid Disappointment: Remember to book
entertainment, family attractions and outdoor adventures well in
advance. Summer time is a busy time, but with a little advanced
planning you can avoid unexpected hassles.
8. Comfort Counts: Long hours on the road can get
the kids feeling restless. Don't over pack the car with too many
bags and make sure they have enough room for personal space. Save
room for the kids to pack a pillow – it makes all the difference
during a long car ride.
9. Safety First: No matter what the distance,
make sure all passengers buckle up. If you are travelling with
smaller kids, ensure they are secured with seat belts and child
safety seats.
10. Be Prepared For The Road Ahead: Always carry
an emergency kit and keep it stocked with the basics like first-aid
supplies, extra water, blankets, flares and a flashlight.
