SUMMER BEAUTY

10 Tips for Summer Hair Care

Summer is here and you can’t wait to dive into the water. But wait; there is something you need to take care of first. Your hair needs to be prepared for all the sun-burns and chlorine that is going to be exposed too. Keep your hair healthy and shiny throughout summer with these simple hair care tips:

1. If you blow dry a lot, use a smoothing Serum, preferably containing silicone before and after blow-drying to prevent frizz.

2. If you are going to be swimming a lot, protect your hair from chlorine by combing conditioner into wet hair before jumping into the pool.

3. Rinse your hair immediately after swimming to wash out harsh chemicals that may damage your hair.

4. A conditioning spray specified for detangle is a great way to easily detangle hair after swimming.

5. When on the beach or by the pool, apply sunscreen to your hair and scalp to protect from sunburn.

6. Avoid going in for perming, curling or straightening treatments during the summer months. Find out your favorite style and stick to it for 6 months.

7. To protect your hair color highlights from the sun, apply conditioner on to the highlighted hair and hide away most of their hair in a tight bun.

8. If you have a sun-burnt scalp already, make repairs by using Aloe Vera gel on the sun-burnt area before going to bed.

9. African-American women can use oil-based hair products specified for them to protect their hair from becoming brittle and tangled.

10. Last but not the least; give your hair some rest by refraining use of too many hair products for a couple of days. Just let them breathe easy.

FITNESS

Top 5 Weight Loss Exercises

It has been proven beyond doubt that any form of exercise is the best way to lose weight, burn calories and get rid of that extra fat. However there are some weight loss exercises that will help you lose weight faster than any other method.

1. Brisk Walking: Walking is the easiest and best way to kick start your weight loss program. Although walking anytime is good for weight loss, a brisk 45 minute walk in the morning is said to be more beneficial. The air is fresh in the morning with no pollution and your body has had a good night’s sleep and is well rested. Though it may take a couple of months to start seeing visible results in your figure, you will feel active and fresh from day one. And once your metabolism kicks off. you will start losing weight faster than you thought.

2. Aerobics: Aerobics is a popular way to lose weight especially with young people as it involves moving to dance music. Your movements do not need to be graceful as in a dance, and it is a great way to unwind and burn those extra calories. The two main types of aerobics are hard impact aerobics and low impact aerobics. Aerobics are suitable for almost anyone, although people with injuries should avoid hard impact aerobics.

3. Swimming: Swimming for weight loss is a fun way to lose weight and get refreshed at the same time. Doing just a few laps of the pool will give a whole body workout and burn those extra calories. Hitting the pool for just 30 minutes every day and keeping a watch on what you eat after the swim will help you lose weight faster than you can imagine.

4. Gym Exercise: Hitting the gym is one of the most popular way to exercise to lose weight and tone your body. A good gym routine consists of cardio vascular exercise, strength training and flexibility training. Most gyms will give you a personal trainer who will see to it that you do your routine properly and also give you a diet chart to follow, so that you do not intake more calories than you burn. And as gyms are everywhere, it is very easy to become a member of any good one and start your weight loss program right now.

5. Playing Sports: Taking up a sport is a great way to lose weight while doing something that you enjoy. Any sport which involves physical activity will help you lose weight and feel better about yourself. Outdoor sports like golf, tennis or football are great as you get to be in nature and also develop your social life. Many clubs meet on weekends for a game and are great places to meet new people and stay motivated towards your weight loss goals at the same time.
