SELF IMPROVEMENT
Start The New Year With A New You
Look back over the last year and ask yourself, "How did I do
this year?"
Do you feel happy with your progress and what you have achieved
over the last twelve months? Can you see some room for improvement?
Some lessons to learn or some things to do over the coming year?
The New Year is an excellent time to reflect upon the previous
year and decide what you want to do with the coming year. It's a
great time to make changes in your life and to make the decision to
create your dream life.
Traditionally, the time between Christmas and the New Year is a
slow time where there is not much to do except eat left over turkey
and chocolates. It is one of the best times to sit down and really
plan the coming year to make sure you make the most of it.
You see, you have 365 days every year, just like Bill Gates,
Warren Buffet, and everyone else on this planet. Where you are at
the end of the year is determined by how you use this time, and it
is entirely up to you how you use this time.
Sit down and think about this year and ask yourself these
questions. If necessary, write them down and reflect upon them.
1) What did you do really well over the last year?
2) What could you have done better over the last year?
3) What do you want more of this coming year?
4) What do you want less of this coming year?
5) Where do you want to be in your life at the end of this coming
year?
These are fundamental questions that will really help you to make
the most of the year and to make the coming year your year.
Start this New Year with a new year and make the decision to
create the life of your dreams. You really won't regret it and it's
never too late to create the life you've always desired.

NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTIES
Games To Keep All Entertained At Your New Year Party
Here are a few fabulous New Year Party game ideas to turn your
Christmas party into a memorable affair.
Guess Whose
Resolution
Give a piece of white paper to each of your guest and ask
them to write 5 New Year resolutions. Collect all the paper
slips and place them in a small basket. Now call the guests one
by one and make them take out a piece of paper and read aloud
the resolutions written on them. Next ask all the other guests
to make a guess as to who could have written the resolution.
When all the resolutions are read out, calculate who made the
maximum number of right guesses and give that person a nice and
elegant Christmas present.
Guess Who
You will need old magazines and safety pins or selotape for
this game. Before the party, cut out pictures of celebrities
known to the group of people that will be at the party. Each
guest gets an identity pinned to his back so that everyone but
him can see it. By asking yes or no questions of his fellow
spies, each child must figure out who he is.
You can also do this using celebrity couples and the party
members have to find their match. You could use Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie, Prince Charles and Camilia etc
Shadows
For this game you will need props, a large roll of paper,
posable lamp and a marker Before the party, gather some props,
these could be some hats, a trench coat and a pipe, (anything
that would be noticeable in a shadow), a large roll of paper to
mount on the wall (found in art supply stores), a posable lamp
and a marker.
One at a time, usher guests into a separate room, where they
can select items for striking a pose. Stand each person in
profile in front of a section of paper and turn on the light.
Trace each person's outline, then write her name on the back.
When all suspects have been traced, gather everyone together in
one room and see if they can guess which shadow belongs to who.
Bubble Wrap Stomp
This is a very cheap way to entertain kids for the countdown
to the New Year.
Pick up several yards of large Bubble Wrap (or recycle Bubble
Wrap that comes with holiday gifts). Just before midnight,
unroll it on a hard surface, such as a wooden floor or driveway,
and when the countdown concludes, begin "the Bubble Wrap Stomp."
Be sure to buy large bubbles, because the small ones just don't
have the same result.

ORGANIZING
After Christmas Organizing
The gifts have been opened. Leftovers chill in the fridge. Before
you start focusing on the new year, try these tips to organize next
Christmas.
1. Make a list of people who sent you Christmas cards. Add anyone
else you'll send cards to next year. Input the list into your
computer. Shop for cards at after Christmas sales.
2. Check your inventory of wrapping supplies. Buy them now at 70%
off in most stores.
3. Make sure you have enough storage containers for all your
decorations. Storage supplies go on sale every January.
4. Open your planner. Start a shopping list for next Christmas. List
names. Shop or at least note gift ideas throughout the year.
5. Establish a budget for next Christmas. Include gifts, cards,
postage, shipping costs, gift wrap, special meals, holiday clothing
and baking supplies. Set up a savings account and arrange for
monthly direct deposit.
6. Ask family members what were their favorite and least favorite
activities this season. Make a note to focus on preferences and
eliminate the least-liked next year.
7. Write Christmas goals in your 2003 planner. For example, July
15th, complete gift list; October 15th, address cards; November
15th, finish shopping; December 8th, reward self with spa day.
