Business & Entertainment

MONEY SAVING TIPS

Eating Out on a Budget!

Using the entertainment is a great savings most of the time. We did find last year at a local seafood restaurant that the costs of the meals are actually increased in price to accommodate the entertainment book, therefore, even though the bogo meals seem cheaper we found from the waitress they also cut the portions. That's the only way the restaurant could profit from the advertising in the book. So, to make a long story short, this particular restaurant quit advertising in the Entertainment book. We went one time after that and the meals were less expensive by several $$$ and larger portions. It made quite a difference.

Don't forget about the coupons in the Sunday newspaper for savings at restaurants. Many times they offer $$ off Red Lobster and bogos at McDonalds, etc.

Eating out is a luxury. We may do it once or twice a month and go to Red Lobster or somewhere comparable. We also eat out for special occasions a few times a year.

May 10 Long John Silvers is giving away a FREE Giant 6" shrimp to each customer between 2pm-5pm.

We always ask for "house wine". It is much less expensive than the other wine on the menu.

Many places, like Red Lobster, appetizers end up being more expensive than the meal itself where the salad, rolls, sides are included.

Many restaurants have early bird specials which are ordered around 4pm-6pm. This saves $$$

Ordering a meal out then taking it home and saving it for later to microwave. Is it really less expensive when having to use the gas to go pick it up?

Making regular meals and freezing them in TV dinner trays really save a lot of time and money. You have a full meal ready to go at any time.

CRAFTS

Frugal Sock Drawer Sachets

Mmmm, sock monster struck again?. Now, something to do with ???that??? sock. It??™ll make a great sock drawer sachet.

One sock that has lost it??™s mate
Coordinating ribbon
Potpourri or dried lavender

Open the sock and using a spoon, spoon in the potpourri working it down into the toe of the sock. Fill almost to the top or until you run out of potpourri (lol). Secure the top with the rubber band, and then tie ribbon around then rubber band. No more smelly sock drawer.

Optional: Try decorating your sock. Have fun with it.
For boys & girls, you can take a sport sock or a pink frilly sock and personalize it by writing their names on it.

FUN WITH KIDS

Poor Dogs....!

We were walking in the park today and playing in the kids area when Monty pointed out that there was a sign on the gate with a dog on it, struck through with a 'no go' sign (no entry). He said to me -

'That sign there mum means, no dogs allowed in here'. 'Yup, I said you're right'.

When we were leaving the play area, there was a dog poo bin, with a picture of a dog on the side of it. Monty piped up ~ 'Mum, theres a bin with a dog on the side of it, which means that you can chuck yer dog in there!'.

Priceless. To know him is to love him.
