LET'S TALK
BUSINESS
Making your Advertising Better
Marketing can become very complicated
for a company. Many businesses spend a lot of money on marketing
their products. If you want to have a great marketing plan and
really bring in the sales, then you need to know how to improve it
over time. From time to time, you have to take measures to improve
your existing plan.
Do you ever change your marketing plan? Have you looked into your
plan and looked for ways that you might be able to improve? This is
a very important process that you need to do every so often to be
sure your marketing plan is up to date. You need to take a serious
look at your plan and decide if you can improve upon it or your
product in any way.
Questions that you need to ask yourself include: Do you stay up to
date with market developments? Do you know what your competitors are
doing? Do you react to these moves by changing your appearance to
give a new, fresh look? By studying your market closely you can
learn a huge amount.
Never forget who your customer is and what they want. Most consumers
look for convenience and ease of use. Does your product offer that?
If not, why not? Customers can be very fickle and they will often
move to a competitor's product if they feel that it offers them more
in the way of convenience.
Do you think about your customer? Do you do things to make it easier
or more convenient for them to use your product? You need to always
keep the customer in mind and remember that convenience is a big
factor when it comes to a consumer using a product. If there are
ways that you can make it easier for your customers to use your
product, then you need to take advantage of it.
You also need to keep new customers in mind. You should try not to
get locked into any one niche so that you are only marketing or
appealing to one type of person. You should look for ways to expand
or to appeal to other people and bring in more customers.
Never ignore customer comments, particularly the negative ones! By
listening to these comments, you will encourage people to feel that
you care, as well as learning how to improve your product.
By focusing on these issues you will be able to ensure that your
marketing strategy remains up to date on a daily basis. This is
vital if you are to grow your business as time goes on.

Pest Control for Potatoes
When our regular forum member Nat (crystalclear) feared danger to
her potato plants from the army of slugs in her garden, other forum
members pitched in to help. They shared these useful tips and web
resources to control pests in potatoes:
Tip by Lilly: "We usually have
that problem once the potatoes begin to grow and reach the top of
the ground. We dust the leaves with plenty of lime. It seems to help
quite a bit in our planting zone. It's a powder form of lime NOT
lime crystals and you just dust the leaves with it. The best time to
dust the leaves is in the morning when there is dew on the leaves
the lime will stick and stay longer and you won't be wasting much."
Tip by Kirara: "Slugs love
'beer' very much. if you pour some beer into a container and put it
on the ground (or dig a shallow hole and put a container in it - and
then pour some beer) where slugs come out at night, next morning
you'll find ugly hungry ones drowned in the container.......!! (It's
really hard to see.....it's a very ugly sight...). A friend of mine
don't want to use any chemicals to kill slugs, so she always uses
'beer' - she says it really works well."

TIPS FOR CAMOUFLAGING SKIN IMPERFECTIONS
Women with significant skin imperfections: port wine stains,
scars, pigmentation irregularities, and rough skin frequently ask
the experts at NeoStrata, makers of the CoverBlend line of
corrective cosmetics, how to best camouflage those imperfections
to achieve more natural-looking skin.
The CoverBlend team prepared the following tips for specific
camouflaging challenges to help women achieve the most natural
looking effect possible and gain confidence and self-esteem in the
process:
1. Imperfection: Makeup looks heavy and/or cakey
Tip: When applying a concealing makeup, the lighter the
hand, the better. It is more effective to apply two light layers
if needed than one heavy, thick layer. Blend, blend, blend, for
the most natural look. Pay special attention to the creases of
the nose, inner eye, jaw and hairline for smoothing and blending
as these areas are susceptible to caking.
To be continued next week. Stay tuned for more tips to
camouflage imperfections...
