LET'S TALK
BUSINESS
Advertising Through Moms
Moms have a very powerful influence
on what their families eat, drink, wear, do, and buy. Moms are not
only the driving force behind their families, but also the economy.
Moms Have The Power!
Moms have the power to start a trend or nip it in the bud. Moms want
a reasonably priced, high quality, safe, and reliable product. Do
you have such a product?
What Are You Sitting There For?
What are you sitting there for? Tap into this market! Advertise to
moms in your church, at your child's school, little league games,
reading groups, moms clubs, or the gym. The possibilities are
endless because, in case you haven't noticed, Moms are everywhere!
Don't Be A Pusher!
Moms have brains! They can smell a dead rat a mile away. You don't
have to push your product if your product truly is what you claim it
to be. Gently offer them the information and let them make an
educated decision. Don't over hype or under sell either. Don't use
fear tactics or deal of a life time approaches. Granted these may
work on some moms, but most are pretty aware of corporate
brainwashing.
Moms promoting Each Other
In the Cyber world of today there is
an ever-growing community of Moms who are supporting each other by
promoting one another. Ever heart of do unto others as you would
have them do unto you? This is exactly what thousands of work at
home moms are doing each and every day.
By promoting each other they are doing one of several things:
1. Getting free advertising for their
site/business/opportunity
2. Building business and personal relationships
3. Branding their business name
4. Supporting work at home families
5. Reaching out to the community
6. Sharing the wahm/wahd Message
7. Offering discounts and freebies to new and returning customers
(which by the way saves Moms money)
How Do I Get Involved?
You can join this growing movement by
visiting a number of networking sites. Some I have listed in the
resource section. You'll need to print off some business cards.
Vista Print has an excellent deal--, develop an advertising
campaign, track your advertising campaign with a coupon code and
then Make Your Packs!
1. Ziplocks/Baggies/Envelopes
2. Cards, coupons, samples, brochures *tip samples and coupons are
the best bet
3. Brand IT! With your business name, number, and url.
4. Distribute the packets to local merchants, with your orders, at
school functions, etc..
5. Exchange with other moms so they can advertise for you..

CAMPING TIPS
Ten Points To Remember When
Venturing Into the Great Outdoors Camping Trip
The annual camping trip is a traditional experience for many
families. For some, it's like a yearly visit to Aunt Bertha's
backyard get-together with her infamous sauerkraut, cold Brussels
sprouts and pig snouts dish. But for others, the trip can be a
bonding occasion that isn't dependent on whether or not it's sunny.
Below are few pointers to enhance your camping experience:
1. Make a checklist before you pack
so you will remember everything that you need to take. This list
needs to include your equipment, even the obvious things like tent
and sleeping bag, your food, and items needed in case of an
emergency. Remember that the reason you are camping is to get away
into the wilderness and there may not be a convenience store nearby.
2. Remember that camping means being
outdoors and that it will probably rain sometime on your trip. Pack
everything that you bring with you in some type of waterproof
covering or container. Smaller items can be placed in zippered
freezer bags; freezer bags are much more durable that ordinary
zippered plastic bags. Film canisters or plastic prescription
containers work well for small items. Remember to protect the large
items, like the sleeping bags, as well.
3. When you get to the campsite,
resist the temptation to go sightseeing immediately. Have the
discipline to set up camp when you arrive and arrive early enough in
the day to get camp set up before dark. Roasting hot dogs over the
fire in the dark is fun; pitching a tent in the dark is not.
4.~Did you remember to bring
flashlight batteries? The time to cover your nighttime needs is
during the daytime when the hunt for lost or forgotten supplies is
much easier.
5. Plan your camping meals in advance
so that you have all the ingredients with you. To make outdoor
cooking easier, put food for the same meal together before you leave
home. Think about pre-measuring and combining ingredients like sugar
and flour that are used in baking. In general, prepare as much in
advance as you can so that cooking meals is fun and not a chore.
6. Do remember to protect your food
from the animals that like to frequent campgrounds in search of an
easy and tasty meal. Always eat your meals outdoors. If you eat in
your tent, the smell of the food will be trapped inside. Do you have
any idea what a hungry and curious raccoon can do to a tent?
7. And, of course, don't feed the
animals that beg for food. It is not safe or healthy for you or the
animals.
8.~A clean campsite is a joy to find
and respectful of its natural beauty when left this way. "Leave only
your footprints" is a helpful tip to remember when picking up trash
in your site. To transport your refuse out, use a strong plastic
trash bag.
9.~Don't bug your neighbors but do
extend your help. When camping with a family, nothing disrupts you
more than having rowdy, noisy and obnoxious camping neighbors. On
the other hand, neighbors who look like they need a little
assistance setting up or such often appreciate kind gestures of
helps if offered.
10. Above all, don't forget to have a good time, even if it rains
all week.

TIPS FOR CAMOUFLAGING SKIN IMPERFECTIONS
Continued from last week...
?
Women with significant skin imperfections:? port wine stains,
scars, pigmentation irregularities, and rough skin frequently ask
the experts at NeoStrata, makers of the CoverBlend line of
corrective cosmetics, how to best camouflage those imperfections
to achieve more natural-looking skin.
The CoverBlend team prepared the following tips for specific
camouflaging challenges to help women achieve the most natural
looking effect possible and gain confidence and self-esteem in the
process.
5. Challenge:? The eye area
?
Tip:? The eye area is somewhat challenging due to the contour
of the under eye, lid and crease.? Its best to apply makeup
with a very small brush, working in small strokes to blend.?
In women, its effective to re-line the eye using an eye pencil.
For dark eye circles specifically, choose a concealer shade that
matches the skin tone or is slightly lighter (too light gives
raccoon eyes).? Dab and pat, never swipe on the makeup.?
Two light coats are better than one thick coat.? Let set for
a moment, and blend edges.? The biggest mistake made with
under eye circle concealing is swiping on the makeup back and
forth, causing the finger to lift off the skin all the makeup that
has been laid down.
?
To be continued next week. Stay tuned for more tips to
camouflage imperfections...
