LET'S TALK BUSINESS

Profiting from the Ecommerce Website: Tips for the Beginner

The ecommerce website has taken the internet by storm. Consumers are buying billions of dollars in merchandise yearly, often even profiting more than offline stores. The internet has become one of the most prominent marketing opportunities ever, and the ecommerce website is a viable way to cash in on the craze. It is possible to profit from the ecommerce sensation. Your first step? Producing an ecommerce site that will always keep customers coming back for more.

When designing your ecommerce website, you should have a welcome or introduction on your home page. This statement should establish the advantages of your site, and assure those visiting that they should be comfortable doing business with you. State your purpose, express your beliefs, and let the consumer know why business done at your ecommmerce outlet is always secure.

All customers love a good sale. Its a fact. Create a specific portion of your ecommerce site completely for sales and discounts. You may even need to design a different webpage if you have a large number of special offers and popular items, and then a separate page on your site itemizing all of your discounted goods. It is also a wise idea to have gift certificates available for purchase at specific times of the year.

Online shoppers want to visit a website with bold, readable fonts and a crisp design. Graphics should also load quickly; visitors don't want to wait around. An excellent ecommerce site always has clear navigation with large search boxes, and easily scannable categories. You must have a page somewhere on your site that addresses shipping and return policies. Always have a link that guides visitors to your privacy policy. This statement assures customers that your will never sell a third party the information that they have given to you. It is advisable to disclose this policy on the homepage of your ecommerce website.

So, you're ready to checkout? This normally annoying process offline needs to be as quick and easy as possible in cyberspace. Your shopping cart should be a click away from the checkout so the shopper can get in and out in the least amount of steps possible. Security is also a big issue. If your site has a secure server, let the customer know. It will most likely make them feel at ease. You should offer a variety of payment options such as Paypal, credit and debit cards, online check and money orders to name a few. A pleasurable checkout experience will ensure that the customer will return.

Increasing profits to your ecommerce business can be done simply with just a bit of transformation to your already exceptional site. In time, both your online enterprise and returns will continue to grow.

TIPS FOR CAMOUFLAGING SKIN IMPERFECTIONS

Continued from last week...

Women with significant skin imperfections:  port wine stains, scars, pigmentation irregularities, and rough skin frequently ask the experts at NeoStrata, makers of the CoverBlend line of corrective cosmetics, how to best camouflage those imperfections to achieve more natural-looking skin.

The CoverBlend team prepared the following tips for specific camouflaging challenges to help women achieve the most natural looking effect possible and gain confidence and self-esteem in the process.

6. Challenge:  Makeup on highly textured (bumpy) areas

Tip:  Blending on highly textured skin is critical, as the makeup will tend to accentuate the uneven skin.  Using minimal makeup, apply with finger and work into the area so the makeup doesn't merely sit on the surface creating more texture.  Go light on the powder, if you feel you must use any.

To be continued next week. Stay tuned for more tips to camouflage imperfections...
