Writing and getting articles published on various places on the net is one of the extremely good ways to promote your business. Every published article of yours will be followed by a 'Resource Box' or an 'About the Author' info which contains a brief description about you, your business and your website url. Articles will be published on a variety of websites and will benefit you in two ways. First, if people like the article, they will certainly look up the 'About the Author' info and visit your website. Second, your every published article (along with your website link at the end) will increase your link popularity for search engine positions!

1. Writing Articles

The first step here is to write or get written, some articles related to your business and target audience. With all the experience in your field of business, you could gather useful tips and information and put it together to form an enriching article. Always keep in mind that your article should be beneficial to your readers. Readers should find something they find useful. Only then will they be tempted to visit your website for more information.

2. Getting Your Articles Published

For getting your article published, first of all your article needs to be 'F.ree of Cost' or 'F.ree to Reprint'. This will encourage most number of publishers to publish your article. A 'free to publish' article generally carries the condition that it is to be followed by author info and website link. Publishers need free content for their websites and are willing to give you a link (which you do not even need to reciprocate to!) in exchange for your article.

But even free articles need to be promoted thoroughly. Ensure that the following steps are taken to effectively promote your free articles:

1. List the articles on your website and add a note at the end of the article that it is free to reprint on other websites and in newsletters as long as the 'About the Author' info stays intact.
    
2. Submit your articles to 'Article Directories' (Click here for a list of such directories). These directories are most hunted by publishers looking for free content to publish their websites.
    
3. Submit your articles to Ezines and Newsletters (Click here for a list of ezines accepting articles). Write to the editor of ezines that accept articles personally attaching your article along with the email or as their rules require.
    
4. Submit your articles to websites that accept article submissions (Click Here for a list of some major websites accepting articles). Every time you visit a website and note that it has a special link for submission, make sure to bookmark it or write down the url somewhere and make your own list of places to submit.
    
5. Make a page on your website and list all your 'free to reprint' articles on that page. This page is likely to get indexed by search engines and shown to publishers searching for free content.
    
6. Submit articles to 'Article Announcement Lists or Newsgroups'. (Click here for a list of such lists).
    
7. Make use of an article submission service to submit your articles to directories and interested publishers. You can search for such services using search engines or utilize article submission services

FALL RECIPES

Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients:

2/3 c shortening
2 2/3 c sugar
4 eggs
1 can (16 oz) pumpkin
2/3 c water
3 1/3 c all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
2/3 c coarsely chopped nuts (you can use walnuts)
2/3 c raisins

Directions:

Heat oven to 350*. Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans, 9x5x3 inches, or 3 loaf pans, 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 1/2 inches. Mix shortening and sugar in large bowl. Add eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour into pans. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 hour 10 minutes; cool slightly. Loosen sides of loaves from pans; remove from pans. Cool completely before slicing.
