Congratulations to LYNN TERRY,
our Dot Com Woman of the month for August. For a woman who
sold everything to open an electronic shop with her husband, only to
be left alone when the business took off, Lynn is, at the age of 30,
unusually popular, successful and at peace with her life. She enjoys
being a single mother to two kids and sharing joys and sorrows with
her 91 year old Grandmother over a cup of coffee.
How did this dynamic woman start her journey towards
success at a point where most of us give up. Know more about the inspiring story of her
life at

PARENTING Q&A
Q. My 3 year old daughter is being very
stubborn about using the potty. I know she is capable of knowing
when she has to go and holding it long enough to get to a toilet,
but she refuses. I have even caught her peeing on her toys just in
spite of using the toilet! What can I do?

be in control. At the age of three, there are just a few things
that she can really be in control of ...

Q. I am having a problem with my 8 y/o
daughter and 7 y/0 son. My son just adores his older sister and
wants to play with her and be next to her all day. My daughter,
however, just barely tolerates him and is frequently quite harsh and
mean to him, which causes them to start arguing.
I'm am pulling my hair out and feel like our house
is a battle zone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

LET'S TALK BUSINESS
5 Keys To A
Successful Ezine
There
are 5 basic keys you need for your ezine to be successful and here
they are though not necessarily in this order.
1- Hosting
You need good reliable hosting for your website. You don't want to
lose subscribers because your site is always down. Not only
that... it's unprofessional.
Why should someone listen to what you have to say in your ezine
when you can't even get the basics of having your website
operational?
2- Autoresponders
You want to automate everything. An autoresponder will send a
confirmation email when someone subscribes. It will handle removal
requests and if it has a broadcast feature you can even send out
your ezine through it.
You may need multiple autoresponders as you will find that there
will be many things you want automated such as when you are
offering a free report, or confirmation of an ad someone placed in
your ezine... the list can go on and on.
3 - Tracking
You may want to track the ads you place when promoting your ezine
to find out what ad(s) pull well for you and which don't. You
don't want to be wasting your time on ads that don't work. When
you find an ad that pulls well... go all out on it.
4 - Products
As you start to grow your ezine and build a relationship with your
subscribers you need to offer them products. After all... you are
in this to make money.
You can create your own products around your list, get resale
rights to an existing product to offer to your list or you can
join an affiliate program.
Now, I admit... 1-4 can get pretty expensive especially if you are
on a tight budget.
TIP #1: You can go here and get all of what I just mentioned in
one package and it's super cheap.

5 - Leads
Every ezine no matter how big or small needs no or low cost ways
of attracting more subscribers.
You can advertise your ezine by submitting to ezine directories,
announcement lists, by writing articles, or doing joint ventures
such as ad swaps just to name a few. The problem is... all of this
can become time consuming.
TIP #2: There is a software that will automate your entire
submission process to everything I just mentioned.
http://www.2marketers.com/ea
TIP #3: There is a site that will bring you new subscribers for
only 5 minutes of work.
http://www.2marketers.com/pbl
There you have it. By no means is this a complete list but by
getting the basics down and following the TIP's I just mentioned,
you are well on your way to a profitable ezine.

FASHION
Swimsuit Care
Swimming is a favorite sport of mine. And do I love my Cool Blue
'Sporty' Swimsuit! After all, Summer is the time for sun, fun and
swimming. But don't forget to take good care of your swimsuits. Here
are some tips I found useful:
1) After swimming in the ocean or the pool, always rinse your
swimsuit with regular tap water. In doing so, you will eliminate
most of the salt and chlorine which are the principle chemicals that
affect the Nylon and spandex fibers. From time to time, you should
also HAND WASH (never in a washing machine even at gentle cycle)
your suit with a cool water liquid detergent (like Zero or Woolite).
Never use bleach!
2) It is highly recommended that you HANG DRY your swimsuit.
Make sure that it is dried in an artificially lit environment
(regular home lighting will do fine) and not outside or the
clothesline. The sun naturally causes colored fabrics to fade.
3) Avoid putting your swimsuit away until it is completely dry.
If it is stored while still wet or humid, it could become
discolored. For the same reason avoid leaving it in a bag or a damp
towel.
4) When applying oil based sun tan lotions, minimize direct
contact with your swimsuit as the oils naturally cause the
swimsuit elastics to breakdown.
BEAUTY
FOOT CARE
Ok...I promised last
time that I would give you some essential tips on your SHOES. Here
they are. Keep these in mind when buying new shoes.
-
Feet size If you have 1 foot
bigger than the other (very common), your shoe must always fit the
bigger foot. Our feet size changes as we grow older.
-
Timing Shoe fitting is best
done late in the afternoon or in the evening when your foot is at
it's largest.
-
Shoe size Different shoe
manufacturers vary their shoe sizes, so try them on before buying &
don't be tempted to grab that last pair on the shelf that is not
your size.
-
Shoe style Refrain from buying
shoes that are very pointed or narrow at the front, it could force
not just the toes but the whole foot to ache terribly.
-
Right fit Wear shoes that fit
nicely onto your foot. Make sure there is a gap infront of your
toes, wide enough for your toes to wriggle. Your heel must rest
securely on the shoe heel. A good pair of shoes must give support &
offer comfort to your feet.
-
High vs Low High heels make
you taller, attractive perhaps but they can be a problem unlike the
low heels that are less damaging & safer. Nevertheless, if it's
impossible to separate you from high heels, be sure the shank is
strong & stable enough to support your weight.
-
Leather Still well loved
despite competition from rubber & plastic. Leather shoes when worn
long enough conforms to every part of your feet even the shape of
your toes!
-
Buying sports shoes Put on a
pair of socks that you would usually wear before trying on any of
the shoes -
1. Walking - Has to be lightweight, gives good support & provides an
adequate space between foot & shoe.
2. Running - Must offer good support & cushioning. Walking shoes are
not meant for running.
3. Hiking- Wear hiking shoes when you are going hiking. Choose
light-weight type for non-treacherous route.
