LET'S TALK BUSINESS

Make Money with Blogs

When you think of the term blog, does it represent money to you? Do you believe that you could make money with this new craze? Well let it be known, that yes people really are generating more business to their companies and they are making money. When it comes right down to it, blogging can easily enlarge your net authority, and increase credibility and market value. Some people even claim that they are only in business because blogging has made it possible for them. They also claim that the business they have gotten has increased significantly as a result of it.

The object is to have a niche and to keep everything small; if you are looking for range of view or balance you will find yourself lost in the shuffle. The general premise of a blog is to sell an idea, anyone who makes blogs are not merely asking for money because of the blog itself, the ideas are the star of the show and the blog is merely the vessel to transport it to the clients. It is one of the best ways to gain reputation in business networking, this in turn leads to more business and finally to what you have been striving for which is profit. They are kind of like a tool that you need to transport information in short bursts, as to not confuse or overwhelm the customer. By keeping them short, many business people believe that the original message or core idea remains intact. There is thought amongst the net industry that far more intangible ideas and products are being peddled online these days, this in turn decreases paid content value, rerouting the connection between the business and the client is the primary goal.

One of the best methods to date, to generate business and profit is to employ a good blogger. Bloggers have a way of gaining trust; they also can capture the market with the use of strategic reputation. Microsoft is one of the leading employers of the blogging trend, and uses the blogs on all their sites and sales pitches. Microsoft feels that if they have multiple blogs that give small portions of information and tid-bits, of needed content they can reach a broader market and keep people informed on what they are doing in the business and any market adjustments that may come your way. If more companies go this route, you could easily see a change in the face of business. Faster communication between client and company, more precise information packets that are not stressing to understand, and an overall cleaner appearance are the goal with the blogging industry. These little vessels of information just may be here to stay.

A PATRIOTIC CAKE FOR MEMORIAL DAY

Red, White and Blue Cake

1 package white cake mix
One 3-ounce package vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1/4 vegetable oil
1 cup cold water
Red and blue sprinkles, paper flags or other decorations

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan. Beat the mixes, eggs, oil and water until smooth. Divide the batter into 2 equal portions. Pour half the batter into the pan. Divide the remaining half into 2 equal portions. Color 1 portion with a few drops of red food coloring and the other with a few drops of blue. Have your child drop spoonfuls of colored batter into the batter in the pan. Use a knife to swirl the colored batter into the white. Bake the cake 45–50 minutes. Let it cool, then frost and decorate it with sprinkles, paper flags or whatever you like.

PARTY PLANNING

Planning a Surprise Party

Often, the most exciting and entertaining parties are planned as a surprise to the guest of honor. However, keeping the secret can give the host attacks of panic and frustration. Though nerve-racking, we persist in planning these hush-hush events. And for good reason: they’re fun!

Surprise parties are more likely to be successful if they are held outside your own home. Unless you can remove the guest of honor for a day, all the telltale signs of a party-- decorations, food, beverage and all other necessities--must be brought into your home at the last minute. Using another venue will make all planning easier, but with split-second timing you can still arrange for all these items to be brought into your home by several people and set up as fast as possible.

Strategic Times

Plan an even more dramatic event at a unique time, such as breakfast, brunch or dessert.

Plan to surprise the “unsuspecting” on a day other than the actual celebration date. For example, a day before a birthday or anniversary.

Surprise Party Tactics

Your invitation should clearly convey that it is a surprise party. This cannot be too blatant or obvious. Both guests and host will be deeply disappointed if the secret is revealed.

A telephone voice mail service is ideal for collecting guests’ responses to your invitations. It directs calls away from your home, and you can retrieve them at your convenience.

Encourage all guests to act naturally on the day of the celebration. For example, they should greet the honoree with the standard “happy birthday,” if that would be expected. On the other hand, caution those who would not ordinarily acknowledge this event to make no mention of it.

Instruct guests to show up one hour before the guest of honor is due to arrive to ensure against accidental encounters.

Arrange for a shuttle service from a nearby parking lot so that parked cars do not give away the hoax.

Videotape the entire planning process, meetings with vendors, setting up the site and coverage of the arriving guests so that the guest of honor can enjoy these special moments too.

Variations on a Surprise Party

Create the party around the astounded guest. Have all guests show up at an appointed time and carrying all the components of the party.

Take the guest of honor on a progressive surprise party. At each stop, another group of guests or components of the party are waiting to pounce and surprise.

Most hosts of surprise parties will admit that the full surprise is not necessary, and that it would have been best to tell their guest of honor the date of the planned celebration and nothing more. The party theme, the guests that are there and the activities are enough to compliment, amuse and surprise the honoree. Without the full surprise element, the host can actually enjoy planning the party.
