Fun backyard activities for summer
holidays
Summer vacation is a
favourite time of year for many school children. The outdoor
recreation team at Canadian Tire has the following tips to help
parents keep children entertained.
Backyard fun
• Set up a picnic table or folding table and bring
out crayons, paper and finger paints. A sand and water table is
great for kids as it has two separate sides for water and sand and
comes with an umbrella, shovel, boats and bridges. Don't forget to
get a table that includes an umbrella to help protect kids from
harmful UV rays.
• There are lots of fun activities for energetic
children. If you have the space, a trampoline is an excellent way
for children to practice balancing while having a fun time. To keep
the kids safe, choose a trampoline with a screen or enclosure.
• Sure to be a hit with neighbourhood kids,
inflatable waterslides and play centres are easy to inflate and are
a safe, fun way to keep kids active and cool.
• Easy to set-up badminton, croquet and Bocce ball
sets are great games for the whole family to spend time together in
the backyard or even at the beach.
Cool summer fun
• Keep kids cool this summer. Visit a store like
Canadian Tire that has everything from small plastic pools for
toddlers to larger inflatable or steel-framed pools that the whole
family can enjoy.
• Keep your kids safe around water. Place the new
