VIVATON RECORDS
HEDDIN YOUR WAY TO INTRODUCE A BRAND NEW ARTIST

NASHVILLE, TN — Jeff Huskins, President and CEO of Vivaton Records, is pleased to announce the addition of Marty Heddin to the label’s roster.

On the one year anniversary of Music City’s most innovative label, Huskins discloses the methodology behind signing new acts: “Our overall objective from the time we opened our doors was to release great music. Because our objective is about the music, we are meticulous in our search for artists. We look for artists that are in line with the integrity of this label. We look for artists--in every aspect of the word-- seasoned, professional and ready to go to work. Marty Heddin fits the bill.”

Heddin, who originates from Garland, Texas, has been perfecting his talent since childhood--winning multiple music competitions as the lead tenor in the Garland High School choir. In his late teens, Marty moved on to front various bands before he received a personal invitation to audition for a performance spot at one of the world’s most renowned nightclubs, Cowboy’s Dancehall. Marty Heddin has since become a household name in Texas maintaining a steady show schedule performing with his band at Cowboy’s Dancehall (in Atlanta, Arlington, Dallas and San Antonio)---four nights a week for the past 13 years. A number of hopeful artists--who are now recognizable voices on country radio--have crossed the stage that Marty calls home—and Marty Heddin made the introduction.

Marty absorbed the influences of artists like George Strait, Vince Gill and Brooks and Dunn and blends their sound with his own traditional country precision. But the listener who pays attention will detect that the thirty-three year old infuses a hint of rock ‘n roll that echoes the music of the Bee-Gees, Bon Jovi and Prince.

In making the announcement official Huskins adds, “Marty is an exceptional talent. He can deliver a country ballad with his soulful voice and traditional sound and then turn around and rock the house. Marty is an entertainer with an element of surprise. As a veteran performer, it is obvious when Marty takes the stage that his music is not just a way to make a living…it’s what he lives for. He’s proven that. We are proud to introduce Marty Heddin as part of the Vivaton family.”

Marty is currently in the studio with producer Carson Chamberlain who describes the upcoming project, “I have seen a lot of artists who come into town looking for a record deal and they’ve never even been on a stage. Marty is a seasoned and strong performer. As lead man, he’s been performing at some of the biggest nightclubs where some of the biggest named acts come through town to play on the same stage. Marty knows how to get the audience attention and he knows how to put on a show. Marty also has a lot of experience recording and he’s right at home in the studio. He knows who he is artistically and what he wants his music to be.”

Marty will make his music industry debut at the upcoming Country Radio Seminar to be held in Nashvile the first week of March. He will embark on an extensive radio tour in April.

Commemorating its first anniversary (February, 2004), Vivaton Records celebrates the addition of Marty Heddin and the continued success of traditional country’s mainstay artist, Mark Chesnutt. Vivaton is set to introduce the first Marty Heddin single in May with a summer album release anticipated.

(Nashville, Tenn.) – Country newcomers Forty5 South will release We’re Country So We Can on TILO Records April 26, 2005. “The title says it all,” says lead singer and band founder Ashley Bowers, “We are country so we can, and we are proud of it. This record is all about being confident in who you are, no matter where you come from.”

Bowers wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks on the album.

Bret Michaels of Poison, who produced the record and is featured vocally on the bridge of the title-track, is proud to put his name alongside of Forty5 South. “They sent me not only one good song but an entire album of good songs. A few we even worked on together and I look forward to working with them again. These guys are great singers and songwriters who are on the edge of country.”

Aaron Tippin --Country Music Artist/Amateur Body Builder/Licensed Gun Dealer /Winemaker/Father--speaks out re: Steroid Issue

I have some serious questions and concerns surrounding the impending steroid investigation into Major League Baseball imposed by Congress. Baseball players have been subpoenaed to discuss steroid use? The Commissioner will be interrogated on the topic of drug testing?

Can someone make me understand why Congress is devoting so much time (and our American dollars) to investigate into who is taking or who has taken steroids on the professional playing field?

I am not defending the use of steroids. It’s an unlawful drug. This has been an ongoing problem within the professional sports arena for years. But, we already have a law established against the sale of or use of illegal drugs. The authorities, DEA and FBI conduct special undercover investigations to arrest people daily at gyms for using and/or selling steroids. This is a law enforcement issue that has already been established. So, why all of the sudden is Congress going to great lengths to become involved? Furthermore, why now? And here’s another question? Why is it that the one pro ballplayer who holds the Single Season Home Run Record has NOT been subpoenaed to appear before Congress? How is it that Barry Bonds has been overlooked in this so-called investigation? (Yet Barry Bond’s record will stand in the record books?)

Here’s the way I see it:

Congress has bigger fish to fry…how about addressing these issues?

The war in Iraq! We have a war going on… people are dying for us.

How do we save more American’s lives?

National Security?

Border Security?

Social Security?

Our Energy Situation?

It’s up to Congress to make the laws. We already have a law against illegal drugs.

If they continue with this investigation, here’s a question: In addition to the pro ball players, are they going to also call upon the junkie or the drug addict to interrogate them about their personal account on their “use” and ask them why?

Mark Chesnutt’s Down with The Contender

Mark Chesnutt will be the first to admit that he doesn’t spend any time keeping up with reality TV, but you can bet he’ll be tuning into NBC-TV’s newest television drama, The Contender. The reason? Chesnutt has a personal friend in the competition, Brent Cooper.

“Brent and I met in Nashville about five years ago at a downtown club called the Mix Factory. The Factory was hosting a fight and we bumped into each other there. We’ve been friends ever since.. I’ve knick-named him ‘Paco.’ ” says Chesnutt.

Brent Cooper has been described as guy with boyish charm and male model good looks. At 5’11”, weighing in at 165 pounds, Chesnutt stands behind Cooper, “ ‘Paco’ (Cooper) really doesn’t look like a the typical boxer but I’ll be the first to say you probably don’t want to mess with him. I remember one time a bunch of us (Toby Keith, Tracy Bryd, my manager and Paco) were hanging out at the lounge at the old Quality Inn, and this one guy starts going off. He was really aggravating and egging us on; there ended up being a bit of a scuffle. Brent jumps in—to our rescue—and pulls some of his fancy foot work. Instead of kicking the guy though, he kicked me. I was hobbling around for days!”

Mark adds his personal commentary on what viewers can expect from boxer Brent Cooper: “Brent is focused and trains hard. He’s passionate about boxing and he’s got determination. ‘Paco’ is fast and scrappy and he has an element of surprise. He’ll get ‘back in the ring and take another swing.’ (AC/DC) Brent Cooper will ring the bell!”
