Hi All,
This is the last of it for today… and hopefully for a week! LOL I hated to clobber y’all with so much news in one day, but it was do it or die in my mind… and I think I really like this new “Zinestar” service for the news. It has some cool features for a free service. J

RADIO & RECORDS FEATURES CLAY DUBOSE AS THEIR
AMERICANA SPOTLIGHT ARTIST”
“After scoring an impressive showing with his debut solo outing, Rewriting History, at Americana radio, Texas musical chameleon Clay DuBose has kicked things up a few notches with his sophomore effort, “These Days”.  Taking his cues from country rock, blues, Texas swing and a tad of Buck Owens' Bakersfield sound, DuBose has fulfilled his promise by becoming a core artist for Americana radio.  The new album is already top 10 on the Americana Airplay chart - the highest ride any independent artist has ever taken.  Portions of the album were produced in Los Angeles with DuBose's friend Will Ray and feature such great session players as Greg Leisz, Danny Timms, Mike Clark and Rami Jaffe.  The rest of the project was completed back in Texas and co-produced by Brian Hofeldt of The Derailers, with that very band playing along.  I like "Long, Lonely Life," "No Accident" and "Less is More."

ABOUT THE CMA LIFETIME MEMBERSHIPS.
Needless to say, we are especially honored at this recognition of our life's work.  Our sincere thanks to CMA and to the friends, colleagues, and others who have wished us well with emails and phone calls.
We just read the message from CMA that came with our Lifetime Memberships. In their words..
"The Country Music Association gratefully acknowledges...
your contributions to our industry with this lifetime membership."
"...It's important that those artists who have built the Country Music Industry
with their talent and performances will continue to lead with their Lifetime Membership in CMA. Their careers will serve as a beacon
to those coming in the future, and their membership adds strength and dignity to the role of the Country Music Association."
This journey has been a great adventure so far, and we still have miles to go.
Thanks again.
Your friends in music,
    Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan

THE COMPULSIVE WRITER.
Writing is an obsession with me.
I think it started a two or three years ago.
I always had to dig for ideas like everybody else.
but now, as soon as I finish one thing
an idea shows up for the next.
Once it's in my mind it sticks
like a song you can't get out of your head
and I can't let go until it's done.
The neighbors see my light still on
as they go to work many mornings.
I've never been good at moderation in anything...
music, sports, reading, love, alcohol, and on and on.
Sports and alcohol seem to have run their course
and after reading a lot
I now write more than I read.
After listening to a lot of music I like
I now compose more than I listen to.
A shrink would ask about my childhood.
As a kid I knew all the sports names and statistics
but I had other heroes
like writers and musicians.
I hope this might be a little help to another writer
but I wouldn't try to teach anybody how to do it.
I can just tell what works for me.
Roger Miller said a lot of his song ideas
came from misunderstanding what other people say.
Thomas Edison said that Ideas come from space.
Woody Allen says he gets his ideas
from a post office box in Schenectady.
I think my ideas come from being pleasantly nuts
but it's not a bad kind of mental illness.
I should have come down with it sooner.
I think a computer is better than a legal pad for stories.
and a piano or guitar is better for writing songs.
A lamp is good.
To me, a piano, a desk, or a guitar in soft lamplight
is hard to resist.
I've been asked if I write words or music first.
It varies, and sometimes it's both at once.
Writing every day becomes a helpful habit.
It's a nice feeling to have a finished story or song.
Hey! I did this! How the hell did that happen?
At first the hardest part is starting
and once I get started
the hardest part is stopping.
Compulsive writing could be a side effect of getting older.
Age can bring this realization...
Time doesn't grow on trees.
Get it all down now
if you want to leave your mark.

“A Warning for anyone living at or considering Brandywine Apts. in Nashville

Hello fellow musicians, friends and associates,
This email is a warning to anyone living in or
planning to move to Nashville, and considering The
Brandywine Apartments on Edmondson Pike in South
Nashville to live.

Please read mine, appropriately titled, "Liars and
Thieves", and all other reviews here:
http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/TN-Nashville-Brandywine.html

The entire complex is infested with roaches and
worse...BLACK MOLD! Management does nothing and in
fact, cheated us out of money and other compensation
for personal belongings lost. I want to make sure that
no one becomes victimized as we have.

To those of you who distribute music industry
newsletters throughout the country, PLEASE forward
this to everyone as a public service announcement. I
can and will back up all claims, including a medical
report after one of us was examined for severe and
continued illness.

We have and will continue to tell everyone we meet
what happened to us, and into every microphone I step
in front of. I will also be placing a warning label on
the home page of my site at aldocalabrese.com, and am
about to contact every form of media and government
agency in middle TN that handles these matters.

Black mold is a silent killer. It's a disgrace to see
human beings treat others as these people do with
absolutely no concern for anything but the money.
Please pass this on to everyone you know.

Thank you,
Aldo Calabrese

PAST WINNER'S COMMENTS & UPDATES
Gabriel Mann (USA Songwriting Competition Top winner in 2003) will going out on the road as the opening act for Alanis Morissette on her "Diamond Wink" tour on April 2005. Alanis Morissette, as you "Outta know" hold the record of having the best selling debut album of all time.

Frickin’ A (Honorable mention winner in the 2004 USA Songwriting Competition) has scored a major track placement with Universal Music. With a faithful update of Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl,” which hit # 1 the first week in August 1981, Cincinnati-based pop/rock band Frickin’ A is gunning for a repeat 24 years later. This fresh remake of “Jessie’s Girl” and its currently building commotion caught the attention of Universal Music Group who were in the midst of putting the final tracks from U2, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Lindsay Lohan, Chingy & Nelly on the 18th installment of their blockbuster series ‘NOW That’s What I Call Music!,’ a series which has sold over 40 million units. The inclusion of this song on this platinum-plus revered collection is a testament to the belief that this song is a bona-fide smash. Millions of pop music fans buy each installment of ‘NOW!’ with the latest edition hitting stores on March 15. Footage of the band will be included in TV spots that will run to advertise the CD.

“Jesie’s Girl” also becomes the first song (among 360 total to date) chosen from an independent label.

"This is the first songwriting contest I ever entered.  It feels great to be respected by other pro writers. Now there are 2 different artists cutting my song.  I'm really fired up to write the next one. Thanks for the opportunity"...Josie Aiello, 2004 USA Songwriting Competition Honorable Mention Winner

“We are ecstatic to win the competition. As a group, it emphasizes once again the credibility of our work as Sister Seven; and as individual songwriters [it emphasizes] our solo efforts apart from each other.” said Patrice Pike...Overall Grand Prize Winner of the 2004 USA Songwriting Competition.

“I am very pleased and very honoured to have won. Other writers I admired have been past winners. Thank you!”….David Francey, First Prize Winner (Folk), 2004 USA Songwriting Competition. In addition to the USA Songwriting Competition win, David has also won 2 Juno awards (Canadian equivalent to the Grammys)!

~~~ IFCO Announces 38th Annual IFCO Fun Fest Show! ~~~
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The International Fan Club Organization (IFCO) has
announced plans for the 38th Annual IFCO Fun Fest Show. This year the
concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., June 7th at the historic Ryman
Auditorium. Headliner Craig Morgan will be joined by Jimmy Wayne, Aaron
Lines, Trick Pony and Mark Wills with more to be announced shortly. Robert K. Oermann will be the night¹s host.
IFCO will also present Bill Anderson with the prestigious IFCO Tex Ritter Award.  The award, established in 1974 to honor Country legend Tex Ritter, recognizes recipients for their contributions to Country music and its community. Past winners include Mother Maybelle Carter, Loretta Lynn, Ernest Tubb, Charlie Daniels, Robert K. Oermann, RCA Records and The Oak Ridge Boys.
"We are excited to announce the first details of what promises to be one of the biggest music events in IFCO's 38 year history," Loudilla Johnson, co-president of IFCO said. " We will have an array of some of the biggest and newest faces in country music, along with IFCO Center Stage Star Search Winners, all rolling out to benefit "Fans Care" for St. Jude Children¹s Research Hospital."
Since 1995, IFCO has staged its annual show in the historic Ryman
Auditorium. Billed as the "music kick-off for the CMA Music Festival (Fan Fair) celebration," the show has consistently played to a sold out house. Sales for this year¹s IFCO Fun Fest Show will benefit St. Jude Children¹s Research Hospital. This is the third straight year IFCO has worked with "Fans Care" for St. Jude Kids.
"Although most shows are made up of fans, we're usually traveling to be with them," headliner Craig Morgan said. "But there's something very special about doing a show just for fans who have traveled to my hometown because of their love of Country music. I am honored to be headlining the IFCO show this year. It's a chance to give back to the people who provide me with an outlet to do what I love and for a good cause."
IFCO is widely regarded as the foremost authority on establishing and
operating fan clubs. Founded in 1967 by Loudilla, Loretta and Kay Johnson, IFCO has become a respected force in the entertainment industry acting as a clearing house for fan clubs and a consumer watchdog for Country music fans.
For more information about purchasing tickets for the event, please visit www.ifco.org or call 615.371.9596. Ticket costs are $38 for Platinum seating; $32 for Gold seating. All seats are reserved.
~~~ Bill Littleton – thebridgeworks ~~~
The March issue of thebridgeworks has been up a few days on the website below; my apologies for the many distractions in letting you know.  We keep focusing on material that might get overlooked elsewhere; feel free to help us in that search.  We ran out of space for record reviews, but the April issue is being built around the review page -- we'll use two pages if we need to.  New material comes in quite steadily.  Connie and I continue to be healthier than we've been in a while -- our best to all, Bill

************** That’s All Folks! ***************
Let’s hope this takes care of news for at least a few days. Maybe I can get caught up…. Or at least close to it. J

Take care and as always, thanks for being there!
