CLASSIFIED: Billy Gilman—In Search of That Girl!
(NASHVILLE, TN)—Sixteen year-old Billy Gilman is in search of that
girl! The
teen sensation extended a special invitation last week to “girls only!”
Billy
Gilman made the invitation official via radio and press announcements
to invite
young ladies between the ages of 15 and 18 to participate in a casting
call for
his upcoming video. The young talent would play opposite Gilman in the
upcoming
video that corresponds to his new single “Everything And More”
(released in
February, 2005). Over 500 young women responded to the call-out to be
considered for the part.
Based on telephone interviews, Billy, along with his management team
and the
video producer, narrowed the number of possibles down to a couple
hundred and
interviews with all 200 hopefuls were conducted this past Friday and
Saturday
(March 25 and 26) at Sonalysts in Waterford, CT. The young ladies came
from
across the country. Some flew in from California and Virginia. Others
came in
from New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Billy
participated in the interview process meeting each and every candidate
talking
with each and every girl personally. “Girls, Girls, Girls! This was
definitely
an adventure! I have never met so many nice girls all at the same
time—it was
an opportunity of a life-time—more like a dream come true,” says Billy
of the
experience. Now, after two full days of interviews, the finalists have
been
narrowed down to eight.
Monday, March 28, marked the day of the final decision. Billy will pick
that
special girl—the young lady who will guest star in his video which is
scheduled
to be filmed this weekend on the beach of Westerly Rhode Island (April
2 &
3). Tune in tomorrow to find out who is—the chosen one!

COUNTRY THUNDER USA ANNOUNCES ARIZONA “YOUNG GUNS” COMPETITION
WINNER!
Web-Based Reality Competition Comes to an End with the Public’s
Favorite
“Young Gun” Contestant to Perform at This Year’s Arizona Festival, held
April
14th-17th
(Nashville, TN) – The 12th Annual Country Thunder USA festival
officials have
announced the 2005 reality web-based talent competition results,
otherwise
known as the “Young Guns” competition, and the winner is Los Angeles
based
KANE! Officials were overwhelmed with thousands of votes cast daily for
the 50
acts competing for the coveted spot on the Country Thunder USA main
stage and a
cash prize of $3,000. Due to an unprecedented number of votes, KANE is
now
slated to open for country music’s favorite duos, Brooks & Dunn and
Big
& Rich!
Held at historic Canyon Moon Ranch in Florence, Arizona April 14-17,
Country
Thunder USA will include performances from Brooks & Dunn, Big &
Rich,
LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Chris Cagle, Katrina Elam, Darryl Worley,
Blake
Shelton, and more. With the results from the competition, Country
Thunder USA
is proud to announce that all performance slots are now full, and fans
should
expect KANE to bring additional ammunition to the stage as the “Young
Guns”
winner!
KANE has very quickly gathered a following unequaled by any L.A. band
in their
genre, voted one of L.A.'s 100 Hottest Unsigned Bands by industry
magazine
Music Connection. Front-man Christian Kane spent the last part of 2004,
and the
beginning of 2005, filming a Steven Spielberg-produced six-part,
12-hour epic
about the settling of the American West called INTO THE WEST. The
project,
which will air on TNT in June, has found Christian riding horses and
shooting
scenes in both the US and Canada. Hopefully they will find a place in
the film
for KANE's music as it is a film about the West. Christian has spent
any time
not filming busy writing and recording new songs in Nashville, LA, and
even on
the set. The only question remaining for Christian Kane is which career
will
launch him to superstardom first—music or acting? With the results of
this
year’s Country Thunder USA competition, it looks as if his music is
steppin’ up
the pace. Be sure to check out KANE at this year’s ! festival on the
main
stage. More information about KANE is available by visiting
http://www.kanemusic.com.
The Country Thunder USA festival is a four-day event, considered a
premiere
country music experience, featuring top outdoor camping, food, and arts
attracting over 140,000 fans each year. Tickets are available now
starting at
$39 for a single day and $129 for a four-day pass, and they are
available for
purchase at http://www.countrythunder.com/ or by calling (480)
966-9920.

FUN FACTS
ABOUT JACK AND MISTY
(that I'll bet you didn't know.)
By Jeff Lemlich, author of “Savage Lost”.
(Reprinted
by permission of author.)
(1)
Jack wrote the song "Gemini"
that became a minor hit by the Ventures.
He cut the original 45 on his Zodiac label,
and a vocal version was cut by a chick
who called herself "Jacqueline Hyde".
"Jacqueline Hyde" was none other than Misty
Morgan!
(2)
Jack was part of an early group called the DAWN BREAKERS
that recorded a single for Coral:
Coral 61619 The Things I Love/Boy With
The B-Bop Glasses
(3)
Jack's rockabilly song (on the legendary Mida label)
was called "The King O'Hearts".
That's the club where Sam & Dave got
their start,
and was named for Sam & Dave's first
manager,
Johnny Lomelo, owner of Miami's King o'
Hearts Club
(who later went to jail for racketeering
and mail
fraud,
and still later was elected mayor of a
Miami suburb).
(4)
Misty Morgan's real name was Maryanne Donahue.

***** Hank Williams
Museum press release *****
For
Immediate release
Contact Information: Beth Birtley Hank Williams Museum
118 Commerce Street
Montgomery, AL 36104
PH: 334-262-3600
Or: Karen Shilling, Manager for David Church, PH: 740-974-9885
Subject: Hank Williams Museum to feature Nationally known Nashville
Recording
& Tribute Artist, David Church
Montgomery, AL 03/20/05 Nashville recording artist, David Church will
be
featured at the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, AL on Sunday, May
1st for a
matinees show at 2:00 p.m. The price of tickets are $12.00 each and
should be
purchased in advance as seating is limited. Church was featured on
Nationally
televised RFT-TV’s “Midwest Country,” and now is considered to be one
of the
most popular artist featured. Plans have been made to feature Church on
several
upcoming episodes.
“Hank Williams had something rare and special, something that reached
inside
you and touched your heart. David Church has that “something special.‘”
That
was the statement made by Joe Jensen, the producer of Midwest Country.
“We have
gotten more response from David’s performance than from any of our
headliners
from Nashville“ Church has gained national attention for his uncanny
ability to
sound like the legend, Hank Williams Sr. As Bill Mack, FX radio’s
satellite
cowboy put it, “ David brings Hank’s music into focus.” People all over
the US
have attended his concerts, and watched his television performances,
and they
find it amazing. Midwest Country and RFD-TV was literally flooded with
calls
and emails after televising Church on the show. Plans have been made to
feature
David on many upcoming episodes. The show is broadcast via satellite
and cable
on RFD-TV to over 25 million viewers. Originally slotted on Saturday
evenings,
it has become so popular that it is now broadcast on Monday afternoon
as well.
After traveling and performing bluegrass music around the country for
10 years,
Church ventured back into country music. His first country album gained
international recognition with songs in the top 10 positions of mp3 and
European Country charts. And in some countries the number one position.
In
early 2002, he was featured on a tour in Europe for 2 months. Upon
returning to
the US, through the encouragement of family and friends, “Images of a
Country
Drifter,” his personal tribute to Hank Williams was born. In 2003, he
was
featured at Hank Williams 50th memorial, at the Hank Williams Museum in
Montgomery. He was honored to be able to perform at the memorial and
meet Cecil
Jackson, Beth Birtley and the museum staff. And David considered the
opportunity a lifetime achievement. He also met and became close
friends with
Don Helms, Hanks legendary steel guitarist. Don has been given much
credit for
creating the “sound” of Hank Williams. Later, David and Don produced an
album
titled, “A Legend Froze In Time,” featuring 12 of Hanks songs and the
title
song, written by Church. It also features a 20 minute interview with
Don Helms
on his life and travel with Hank.
Very much a traditionalist, David’s view on today’s “new country” is
one of
utmost respect. He believes it is wonderful that the producers are
capturing
the attention and following of the younger audience. There are a
moderate amount
of radio stations and promoters across the country adopting the
traditional
sound of country music back into their formats. But there is still a
vast
majority of people worldwide that want hear more of the traditional
sound of
country music. “There are small venues popping up all around the US
that
feature live country music. People are tired of sitting in front of the
TV and
are thirsty for what I call ‘straight-up country.‘”
David performs throughout the US with his band “Side Trak” and female
artist, Terri
Lisa.
The Hank Williams Museum features displays of Hank’s albums, clothing,
musical
instruments, and the 1952 Cadillac that made Hanks final journey. They
recently
added additional memorabilia made available through Hanks estate for
display
including: 14 suits, awards, blue suede shoes, hats, 7’ portrait that
hung in
his home, Hank Jrs, cowboy boots, boy scout uniform and numerous
additional
items; over 50 in all. They will also be opening an additional wing
called
“Audry’s Dream,“ to include many of Audry’s personal items. Visiting
the
museums gives people insight into the life of Hank and leaves you with
a
lasting impression and appreciation of the father of contemporary
country
music. The museum is located in the heart of downtown Montgomery at,
118
Commerce Street. For more information or to purchase tickets contact:
