SUSHI'S GIFT
By,
Jackie Stewart

Shush gazed into the blue waters that ran beneath Rainbow Bridge. Waters that were the same warm shade of blue as her beautiful angel eyes. She watched as her daddy first gazed into the eyes of the one whose heart she had sent to warm. She knew they needed each other. Each heart looking for the part that was missing, and could only could find in the other.  Shush knew what her daddy needed and Coco was the one. She had been with other families but they weren't the right ones for her.

Shush felt her daddy's excitement as he went back to the shelter to get his Gypsy. As Shush watched her loved ones, she gently touched the red, heart-shaped locket she wore close to her heart. In it she kept her most prized memories. The tears she had felt warming her red fur as she fought her final fight. That one lone tear which had run down her daddy's check and his whispered words of love. Also around her neck she carried with her always her mommy's final hug and kiss. When she laid down to rest she pulled that hug around her like a blanket of love.

Shush had heard the many tears from others who had reached out to her from all over the world. She knew that these caring ones would be with her family after the monsters set her free. The Angels brought her to the bridge and she had a part of many hearts to light her way.

When Shush had first arrived at the bridge and was greeted by Poky and her Bridge Family, she sat and watched her daddy.  Shush asked the Keeper of the Wind "What can I do for him to bring him peace? He is always there for everyone else, but who is there for him? Mommy has his hand to hold.”

The Keeper of the Wind answered, "Look closely as there is another who needs him. She is waiting for the right one and your Daddy Lob is that one."

"How do I bring them together?" she asked knowing this was what was needed.

"Whisper into his ear as he did yours and he will hear you with his heart. I will send your words to him on the Winds of Peace.”

Shush heard this, lifted her voice, and heard them echo on the winds to her daddy. "Daddy, there is one who is as the Gypsy, and she is waiting for you to be the heart that loves her. I am sending her to be by your side and watch over you for Poky and me. You will know each other with one glance. Follow your heart and it will lead you to her."

With those whispered words, Shush sat back and leaned against her Silver Brother's side and waited. Everything unfolded as she was told it would by the Keeper of the Wind, and before she knew it Coco, now Gypsy Lee Dawn, was there where she was meant to be. Now Shush told Gypsy of what her daddy needed in order to heal. Gypsy listened carefully, for she wanted to please her new daddy—for he was now the center of her heart.

Poky laid a silver paw on his sister's shoulder and said, "Well done sister of mine. We will touch again and now he has this true heart to love him. And Gypsy has a home that is his heart."

Then the two of them gazed into the blue waters and were one with the two who spoke each night to the Star Who Waits.  That night the Star Who Waits sent a message to his new sister, Gypsy, from Shush. He whispered words that Gypsy's ears only could hear. "Thank you for giving him your heart. Watch over daddy till we can, our new Heart Sister.”

I know I would never have been able to find my voice and been able to write if not for Poppy Lob.  He gave me the courage to tryHe called out to a shy quiet girl and brought her out of the shadowsHe says often one can but try.  So in Lobo Wolf's words, Let Peace Be Your Soul Mate.
