Christmas Memories |
|
I taught myself how to crochet the first year I married just a small doily was my feat. Then I decided to make each one a small stocking, they had their own color and would run to the tree each day to check and see if there was a treat for them. When they found something it meant time to go to bed early as Santa would be coming that night. I still have the little socks and put them on the tree it has been more than forty years now. Each year they would ask me ""Mom, why do you still put that stuff on the tree??"" I tell them it is a good memory feeling.... now they are all grown up with their own families and they just look at me and say, I know now, it's that good memory feeling... This year I bring them out again even though he will never be here any more, but the memories will be as alive as they were always were before. In memory of my son,,9-22-60 - 9-13-03

(Re: Am I a Children?) What a wonderful story. And look what a wonderful
man Roger has become by the Grace of God. I give this one 5 pearls. I
loved it. (Re: Just Another Morning) Good writing because it made me agonize about
going to work and all that entails. Not being a morning person myself and
retired it was almost painful to read. Re: Growing Up in Missouri, Part II This is a very good history lesson. She has a
good memory. I hope to start writing my history down someday soon. While
I still have my memory. Thanks for a good story. enjoyed it. This was wonderful Re: We Wish You a Merry Christmas Stehvin certainly knows how to weave a very heart
rendering story. Makes you think. Thanks Re: Christmas Samaritan Don Carroll's story should be told to "It's a Miracle" show on TV! Amazing! God IS good. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Re: November Night Thoughts Another excellent writer and story. Barbara, I thoroughly enjoyed "November Night Thoughts."
What a poignant piece. Bittersweet the reality of life and how short
it really is. And how precious and dear are those loved ones who share it
with us. |
